Wichita Falls Campus Crime Stoppers 2007

Add to My Profile | More Videos Campus Crime Stoppers is a unique program that encourages students to get involved in keeping their school safe. It’s a joint effort between Wichita Falls Crime Stoppers, Inc., local law enforcement, the various school districts, and the community to keep the threat of violence, illegal drugs, weapons and other dangerous activity off our school campuses. The goal of Campus Crime Stoppers is 100% safe schools. This involves more than just taking anonymous tips. Students today are faced with a lot of dangers such as dating violence, internet predators, bullying, drugs, underage drinking and more. We strive to give students access to people and services that can make them safe from all kinds of threats. How does the program work? It’s easy. If at any time you have information on a crime or you know someone who has a weapon, illegal drugs or is threatening someone else while at school, just call the Campus Crime Stoppers number, 691-TIPS (8477). Do I have to give my name? No! Your call is completely confidential. Crime Stoppers will not ask for your name. When you call, you are given a code number or word. This word or number is for you only and should not be given to anyone else. No one will know you called the hotline number unless you tell them. If your tip leads to an arrest or recovery of weapons or illegal drugs you could be eligible for up to a $100 reward! But better than that, you can help keep your classmates, friends, teachers and school safe and crime-free. How do I get involved? Just contact your school’s Campus Crime Stoppers sponsor or counselor and let them know that you are interested. You can also call the hotline 691-TIPS (8477) and receive information on how to get involved. Students who serve on Campus Crime Stoppers boards of directors learn leadership skills as they administer their programs with the advice of their sponsors, raise funds to help pay rewards for tips, publicize the program, and obtain student involvement in making their campus a safer, more desirable place. .... ....
