About me:
Whether it is immediate assistance in a crisis, training and encouragement to overcome obstacles in the path to a safe and secure future, or addressing the causes of discrimination and adversity, we are committed to working together to protect and empower women and girls.


Our member organizations serve 220,000 women and children in New Jersey

The statistics are hard to ignore.

* Battering is the number one cause of injury to women
* Women are five times more likely than men to die in poverty
* A woman is raped every two minutes
* Over 30% of working women earn wages at or below the poverty level
* Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in young women ages 15-40
* Men make up 100% of NJ’s delegation to the US Congress and 84% of NJ's State Legislature
* NJ ranks 5th in the nation of people diagnosed with AIDS and 3rd in the nation of people diagnosed with HIV



What will your contribution do?

* $50 will give 50 women the resources to reduce the risk of HIV infection
* $50 will provide career counseling for one woman
* $75 will help fund hotlines, crisis intervention, and information and referral services to victims of sexual assault for one week
* $180 will provide counseling, education, and employment training services for a displaced homemaker for one year
* $220 will provide reproductive health care, including contraception, to a woman for one year
* $150 will provide one woman English lessons for a month
* $1000 will help one woman and her family leave an abusive home by helping with moving expenses, airline tickets or a security deposit
