Whale of a Time is an organisation that organises creative workshops and events on environmental issues as well as has an online environmental-conscious community called the Whale of a Time Artist Community. Whale of a Time provides opportunities for people to engage in a fun and creative way with wildlife conservation and sustainable living, our relationship with our planet, different species and ecosystems.
People appreciate participating in Whale of a Time workshops and events while learning about ways to live in harmony with our environment. In the Whale of a Time Community people are actively involved in the process of change for a sustainable society with the vision to live peacefully and happily without compromising our existence nor the survival of other species for future generations.
Many species have been perceived as endangered because of hunting, habitat loss and degradation, chemical and noise pollution, global climate change, unmonitored by-catches, poaching, accidents and disturbance. We need to think of ways in which we can change our attitude and behaviour for their and our benefit.
Our primary objective is to empower individuals to create change within our society through art, music, writing, performance and film. Whale of a Time is inspiring people to express themselves through a creative message.
Our secondary objective is to influence governments via public demand giving rise to policy change. Whale of a Time is devoted to maintain freedom and respect for all life forms and to live in harmony with the Earth's ecosystems.
In the Whale of a Time Community we aim to express ourselves creatively about our environment and enrich our global culture with the spirit of nature, to achieve cultural change and build on a beautiful relationship with our environment.
Our creative message focuses on the beauty of nature. We believe that only if we understand the true beauty we can appreciate what we have and have the will and passion to save it.
Learning creatively enriches our experience, gives understanding and meaning and helps to solve social and environmental problems. Being actively engaged and expressing one's passion creatively by focusing on environmental issues can bring an environmentally conscious and positive change into our community.
Whale of a Time is based on a motivating spirit and nourishes a positively charged, healthy and creative community strengthened by social and environmental values. At Whale of a Time we have a unique approach in engaging the community through a creative message. During the Whale of a Time Workshop we aim to engage people of all age groups with the theme of endangered species. People make their favourite animal species in clay and take the experience home in their hearts.
Having a whale of a time, using your creativity, learning new skills sculpting in clay, while working from your imagination, from reference images and 3d models of different animal species, and learning about wildlife is what the workshop is all about.
