BONUS VIDEO & AUDIO:
The book has extensive photo sections -- but here you can see and hear some of the multimedia that can't be shared on the printed page:
The first audio clip at the top of the page is a 6-minute collection of 2007 radio interview with author Timothy Gassen; next is a restored version of the 13-minute 1976 promotional vinyl record given away at a Spring 1976 Racers home game, featuring legendary Racers radio voice "Hockey" Bob Lamey. The next two are highlights from the Racers' 1977 playoff sweep of Cincinnati, and the last is Wayne Gretzky's first pro goal, with Indy.
The video clips (from top to bottom) include 2009 and 2008 appearances with the NHL Phoenix Coyotes (4 minutes each), a 2007 interview on Indy TV (4 minutes), a one-minute highlight reel (with Wayne Gretzky's first two professional goals), the end of a game vs the archrival Cincinnati Stingers (9 minutes), and Indianpolis highlights form the 1977 WHA All-Star game (10 minutes).

GRETZKY, INDY & THE W.H.A. DEBUTS NEWLY DISCOVERED 1978 GRETZKY-RACERS VIDEO AND AUDIO, PLUS RARE GAME FOOTAGE AND NEW INTERVIEWS WITH THE PLAYERS AND COACHES WHO MADE INDIANAPOLIS & THE UPSTART WORLD HOCKEY ASSOCIATION REVOLUTIONARY IN SPORTS HISTORY.
When major league hockey came to Indianapolis in 1974, no one knew the sport’s two greatest players would one day wear the Racers’ red, white & blue. But the Racers story is so much more than just a launch pad for Wayne Gretzky & Mark Messier — it is a time when a rebel major hockey league shook the N.H.L. to its core — and changed the game forever.
The result of five years of new research, writing and production, GRETZKY, INDY & THE W.H.A. is the two-DVD box set that fans have waited for as a tribute to the wild & colorful 1970s hockey era.
Journalist Timothy Gassen was there, and as writer & director he now details the only firsthand account of the Indianapolis Racers and their five year run in the World Hockey Association.
