Dawud Wharnsby began writing poetry, composing music and performing while in his mid-teens. Since 1995 his recording career has yielded a string of over fifteen albums including the internationally-popular CD's "A Whisper of Peace", "The Poets and the Prophet" and "Out Seeing the Fields". His 2009 book, "For Whom The Troubadour Sings", includes the lyrics to all of his songs written between 1998 and 2008.
His writings of English language “nasheed” (spiritual hymns drawn from Qur’anic ideology) were among the first of their kind written and distributed professionally around the world. As a voice for the socially-conscious and spiritually-minded, his work has inspired a generation of educators, artists, poets and musicians.
Dawud often travels worldwide to share his poetry and songs with audiences of all ages. He also frequently lectures at schools, conferences and universities.
Dawud and his family reside seasonally between their homes in Pakistan, Canada and the United States.

Brother, I am glad to find that you are in Pakistan. I wish that you enjoyed your stay here. There is so much happening in the country and we are sad to see all the bloodshed and killings. I am sure that you knew that it was not the true depiction of Islam. I will request you to raise your voice and share your thoughts on all this non-sense. We do need people like you to tell the world most important those who were born in Muslim families that what real Islam is all about and what does this all non-sense represent. We look to hear your thoughts in public. Please keep us posted of your plans and if you are coming to Karachi and giving a talk we would love to attend this. By the way I am sure that my kids will be excited to see Adam and Aneesa!
