Hey there! Wanted to say hello since it's been a while since we have been by your page ! WASABEEEE!! Love, Rockstars Glued/Rockstars Glued Radio Staff www. rockstarsglued. com
UNWED SAILOR is helmed by Oklahoma-born songwriter Johnathon Ford. The basis for the instrumental project came into being while Ford was still writing with Seattle luminaries Roadside Monument. Pulling towards a bass guitar-oriented sound, the songs he had begun to craft did not fully feel right for Roadside Monument, thus the unbeknownst predestined forming of Unwed Sailor. Not aiming for Unwed Sailor to fall into the regular confines of a typical band, Ford's ever evolving cast and crew has been tirelessly composed over the years of good friends and company. Throughout the past decade, Unwed Sailor has shared the stage with the likes of Pedro the Lion, Mary Timony, Low, The Danielson Famile, Sufjan Stevens, Early Day Miners, Minus the Bear, The Advantage, The Starlight Mints, Battles, Mates of State, and Beach House(just to name a few…). The band has since been relocated and based out of cities across the United States, including Chicago, Seattle, Washington D.C., Jackson MS, Little Rock, AR, and most recently Lawrence, KS. With numerous tours in the U.S. and Europe, the band has traveled almost as much as it has evolved.

Quickpost this image to Myspace, Digg, Facebook, and others! Saturday 10th May 2007 CASTNETS - JESSE SYKES - BRENDAN CASEY £6 /£8 Door Doors 8pm til 2am
CASTANETS: Castanets is American music drowned then reborn clear-eyed and wet with sea spray. Castanets is murderous nights and the 10 west sunset and crying gulls. Castanets is Raymond Raposa. Castanets is Raymond Raposa alone, walking through the dark and crowded dancefloor, singing bare voiced (rangy, high, cracked and real) with acoustic guitar. Castanets is a four-piece or a five-piece, six-piece, seven-piece, all-of-us-everywhere-piece stomping out electric tombstone chants or something that sounds like Pink Floyd with more heart. Castanets is delta heart, Nashville hands, outer space brain. Castanets is Cathedral (Asthmatic Kitty, 2004)
JESSE SYKES The band that started as a duo of Jesse Sykes and former Whiskeytown band member Phil Wandscher began writing and playing together and later brought on the rest of the Sweet Hereafter, as they are now known. The new album sees Sykes displaying a more weathered vocal style and the band a more produced sound. There are some really upbeat tunes on the album like “You Might Walk Away” and “I Like The Sound”. With the latter bringing to mind a Grace Slick sound and the former with a tipping of the cap to Cat Power.

She spent ten years as music director and organist for a Catholic church in the Bronx before joining the circus as the bilateral hermaphrodite at Coney Island. This landed her a gig as the bandleader for performance art group the Bindlestiff Family Circus and a tour with the Kamikaze Freak Show in Europe. After moving back to New York City, she became a fixture in lower Manhattan with a street act on a high-rise tricycle with a concert harp. She recorded her first record, Little Window, on the Durtro label in 2000, a four-track EP in 2001, and her second full-length, the double-disc Love's Small Song, in 2002. Her latest album, Safe Inside The Day, was released in January.
The Bellows: If you hunger for the dark beauty of Nick Cave's murder ballads, the poetic chaos of Tom Wait's bone machine or the world weary woes of Johnny Cash's rambling characters.... This rag tag bunch of instrument swapping musicians stir a swampy cauldron of folk, country and blues, cooking up Cossack style upbeat to wistful melancholy.
