Books
Non-fiction mostly (which is ironic). Lately I've been into stuff like: The Monkeywrench Gang (though I can't find my copy), The Dispossessed, Dave Egger's Best Non-required Reading, "Walking on Water" and "Endgame" vol. I & II by Derrick Jensen, Anarchy in Action, etc. Authors I like include H. Marcuse, R. Dawkins, N.O. Brown, David Graeber, Colin Ward, Ernest Becker, Bert. Russell, etc. Books I'm hoping to read next: "Rewilding North America" by Dave Forman.
About me: Joe is the kind of guy who would rather not talk about himself. At least not in first person. It just feels too weird (to him).
Though he didn't go to his fifteen-year high school reunion, he sent in the "information update" card that accompanied the invitation; under occupation, he put "Vigilante". He could have put revolutionary, but these are quiet times and the pacified class of 1990 didn't understand him the first time around--why should anything change now...besides, nobody laughs at a vigilante.
Who I'd like to meet: In one day, three people asked me if i was on myspace. i figure i shouldn't push back against the cosmos so hard this year. so here i am. what now? i'd like to meet sarah silverman, bobcat goldthwait, zoey deschanel, ian mackaye, david cross, jeanine garafalo, ira glass, derrick jensen, edward abbey, thomas frank, dave eggers, ricky gervais, etc., but i'd settle for gala and michael (not "scott") and carly and other, more tangible, people.
oh wow! that is def. a lot to take in! Congrats are in order :) Whoa. Things have been good here. Fostering a pregnant momma cat, I thought she'd burst 3 weeks ago, she's holding out on me! Job hunting, again, and it's pretty depressing. Other than that life is pretty good. Me and the fuzzy kids are happy and healthy :)
word up. we've just posted our newest song, "the fire". we think it's the cat's pajamas. but we're biased - so if you'd like to stop by and tell us what you think, we'd be very happy to hear from you. :)
i can't believe inertia closed. ike actually dropped so many f-bombs when he heard that i thought he had injured himself. i still have your chess book. when can we get together and play again soon?
