Well I'm in Nashville with a night off on tour .On the One is performing here tomorrow night . When I got into town I called my friend, singer /songwriter Steph Callahan to say hi and see what's up. She informed me that guitarist Reggie Wooten plays every Wed, here in town. So I go down there pay my 5 bucks and go in the bar expecting to here and see one of the baddest guitar players on the planet do his thing. As it turns out his little bass playing brother Victor was by rare chance, in the house. I and around 30 other nice folks were treated to an hour long jam that included a slew of tunes by James Brown, Prince,and yes Mike Jackson. Victor, the four time grammy winning bassit for Bella Fleck, happens to be one of my heros and has been a significant source of positivity and influence in my playing and personal life. In recent years as I have underwent some big changes surrounding my alcohol and drug issues. Victor has been a positive and uplifting force in my recovery and transition into a new way of living. I had the pleasure of briefly meeting this man that has been so important to me and was able to shake his hand for the first time. I once was very convinced that there was no god and that I had no good purpose on this earth. Today my oppinion is quite different and I have a great amount graditude for Victor his messages and his mastery. I'm left feeling like our meeting tonight was arranged by my higher power whome I choose to call my loving god.
Man I am so glad to see a page for you guys. I remember when you guys were doing your thing down in Florida. I own both albums I hope you are going to tour in Carolina's. I am probably the biggest What It Is fan on the east coast. I remember when groove was king.

Seriously, so honored to have been a part of this group. Yes, we had difficult times, but they were nothing compared to the fun on stage! Jerry, Avi, Russ, Dru, Red, Paul, Don, Jerry E, and all the other talented folks (the original drummer/all-around musical bad ass: Josh G.) in the W.I.I orbit, you continue to inspire me to this day.
