About A Hoboken Hipster in Sherwood Forest

From the author of "A Connecticut Fashionista in King Arthur's Court" comes the long awaited comedy time travel romance sequel

A Hoboken Hipster in Sherwood Forest

""Mancusi writes with style, wit and charm...an absolute treat!" -- USA Today Bestseller Julie Kenner

If Chrissie Hayward knew that morning she'd be going back in time to rescue her crazy coworker Kat, she'd have worn better shoes. Doubly so if she'd expected to meet her true love. According to the mysterious gypsy, Chrissie was the "gentle soul who would tame an outlaw's thirst for revenge" -- aka the real Robin Hood. So how come the guy was such a dud?

LOST...IN SHERWOOD FOREST?

No, Robin of Locksley was no Prince Charming. And the part about robbing the rich to feed the poor? He didn't get the memo. In fact, all the guy seemed to do was mope. (And he and his not-so-merry men thought Chrissie was a boy. Sure, she wasn't stacked, but still!) Nonetheless, he was loyal and brave and handsome as sin. If Chrissie coudl just get him with the program, she could right his wagon and get these boyz'n the wood to be heroes of the realm instead of twerps in tights. Only then could this prince of thieves become king of her heart.

The Smoking Poet

Dec 20 2008 4:07 PM

The Smoking Poet Launches Winter 2008-09 Issue!

A great poem does things to you. Divine and nearly frightening things, like knotting up something inside you, or making your heart slip into an erratic beat, or catching your breath, or causing tremors, fevers, daydreams, sweats, inexplicable bliss.

Congratulations to the winners of TSP’s Annual Poetry Contest!

First Prize: “Northward” by Koh Xin Tian

Second Prize: “Sock Puppet” by Malcolm R. Campbell

Third Prize: “Reunion: 30 Years Too Late” by Lana Maht Wiggins

Honorable Mention: ”Selected Love Letters I’m Still Trying to Write” Kelli Russell Agondon

A special thank you to our honorary judge, poet Dorianne Laux.

Enjoy great poetry, fiction, non-fiction, book reviews, cigar reviews, and an interview with our feature artist, Sue Hughes. Watch for a new call for submissions, including our second short story contest.

I wish to ask to anyone who is kind enough to read this, I want to ask of you Where does YOUR love come from? If you searched within your heart and soul where does the feeling or sense of Love come from what is its source? Please share with me your answers for i wish to know.

A few years ago I may not have given the same answer as I feel i want to say now , we all grow and constantly evolve into larger sense of who we are with time and experience. So today this is the answer my heart gave to me. My love is not from an item i own or one relationship in my life . It comes from a place inside of my soul a sense of belonging to something much larger than ME. I will try to explain forgive me if my words do not make sense to you . The divine spark within each of us that makes us all connected to something much larger than one self . The sense of I am not alone though i may not see anyone else in front of me I know God or Spirit or whatever name you choose is within me around me and loves me no matter if i dont even love myself at the time. I am not a Bible pusher sort of person if you knew me. But i have learned how everything we do affects everything and everyone we touch and that God is in each and everyone of us. For this reason I am not alone and I know I am part of something so much bigger and i get my sense of LOVE from being a part of that . angel

Writers @ Edit Red

Apr 22 2007 4:01 PM

'City Smells' is a new literary project set up by the Edit Red Writing Community.

We are running three writing competitions, Flash Fiction, Creative Non-Fiction and Poetry, all with the theme 'City Smells. The winners of each of these competitions will win $100. But more than this, we will take the best work from each competition and compile a paperback 'City Smells' anthology. The writers who make it into the 'City Smells' anthology will each receive free copies of the book and be paid a royalty in book sales.

To submit to these competition and stand a chance of being published in the 'City Smells' book you must be a member of Edit Red, as the submission process is automated. Joining Edit Red and entering these competitions is 100% free. If you make it into the book, we will pay royalties based on book sales.

Edit Red has existed for many years and was created and is still managed today by non-fiction author Alan Emmins, creative writing teacher Chris Lee Ramsden and literary reviewer Sean Merrigan.

If you are not already a member, we hope you will join and take part in this great literary event. Sign up here for free!

Regards
Alan, Sean and Chris
