    frank, there is no html in this comment by the way. i couldn't type all those brackets, you know... ok frank, here is the question of the season: is it possible for a beat poet to exist in the current milieu? or would that just be too stupid? is anyone who claims to be one or believes in the beats lacking relevance in our culture? if lawrence ferlinghetti was standing at a bus stop in oak cliff, would the dart bus stop and pick him up, or would he simply be left, perhaps to recite exemporaneous verse to the odd Hispanic passersby? guess we'll find out, and perhaps not be validated in a cultural sense either.
