If you’re a hardcore Disney fan, you’ve probably seen iconic photographer Annie Leibovitz’s portraits of celebrities as Disney characters before. Big names like Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Rachel Weisz, and Alec Baldwin have all taken part before, and now Leibovitz is back for another shoot with some more of the biggest names in entertainment. Russell Brand loses a hand as Captain Hook (above), and below, you’ll see Ferrell, Black, and Segel as the three hitchhiking ghosts from the Haunted Mansion ride. Check it out!

Talk about perfect casting. Brand perfectly captures the wild theatricality of Captain Hook, so much so that I actually want to see him play this character in a new Peter Pan movie. Ferrell, Black, and Segel look terrific as the hitchhiking ghosts, but only peole who have actually visited one of the Disney theme parks would get this reference, since these characters haven’t really appeared in a movie before (other than maybe a quick glimpse in the ill-fated Eddie Murphy film).

This last photo was a preview piece that was released as a teaser before the other two, bridging the gap between the pirate ship sailing the seven seas and the legendary New Orleans-set Haunted Mansion. I love how it sort of reimagines the locations as being closer together than they really are, and the gorgeous moonlit backdrop wonderfully captures the sort of Disney magic that’s associated with all of these properties. And I bet Captain Hook is keeping a close eye on that gator in the foreground, considering how he lost his hand to one of those creatures a long time ago.
