Welcome back to another edition of “This Week in Casting,” the column that gives you the rundown of who’s attached to the hottest upcoming projects in Hollywood. From big time players to fresh-faced rookies, we’ve got the week in review for you right here. This week, we’ve got casting news about Keira Knightley, Saoirse Ronan, Donald Faison, and many more. Get all the details below!

    .
    BIG NAMES
    .
Keira Knightley to star in Jack Ryan

The movie: A reboot of the Jack Ryan character played by Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin, and Ben Affleck in previous films, Chris Pine will take the lead as a CIA analyst who discovers a plot to financially destroy America. Knightley plays his wife.
Other projects: She’s starring in the period drama Anna Karenina out in theaters later this year.
    .
Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen officially sign on to Scary Movie 5

The movie: Ashley Tisdale is attached to star in this fifth installment of the parody franchise, and word on the street is that LiLo may be replacing Anna Faris’ character as the ultimate lead in the series. Sheen, who’s no stranger to these movies, is back as well, but we’re not sure if he’ll be playing his same riff on Mel Gibson’s character in Signs like he did in previous Scary Movie flicks.
Other projects: LiLo has The Canyons coming soon, while Sheen is starring in Robert Rodriguez’s bloody sequel Machete Kills.
    .
Saoirse Ronan playing the title role in Mary, Queen of Scots

The movie: A period piece that Keira Knightley isn’t starring in?! Gasp! Mary was quite the scandalous character back in the day, conspiring to kill all sorts of royalty to ensure her seat on the throne.
Other projects: Ronan will lead Stephanie Meyer’s newest book adaptation, The Host, when that hits theaters next year.
    .
Mary Elizabeth Winstead starring in A Good Day To Die Hard

The movie: The fifth film in the Die Hard franchise will almost certainly see Bruce Willis’ John McClane character shouting “Yippee-kay-yay!” and firing handguns as he fights alongside his son in Russia, of all places. Winstead will reprise her role as Lucy McClane, Willis’ daughter.
Other projects: She gives an incredible performance as an alcoholic in a film called Smashed, which she just tweeted is set for release in October.
    .
Reese Witherspoon will star in The Beard

The movie: Nope, she’s not growing one. While story details are being kept under wraps, a “beard” is someone who acts as a date for a gay person to trick others into thinking that person isn’t gay. We know this is a romantic comedy, so what remains to be seen is just how far they’ll take this premise. If they have Witherspoon as a beard for a gay guy, and then she falls in love with him…I just don’t know if I’ll be able to take it.
Other projects: She has a number of projects on her plate, but first up is a movie about the West Memphis Three called Devil’s Knot.
    .
    RISING STARS
    .
Donald Faison joins cast of Kick-Ass 2

    Getty Images

The movie: The sequel to 2010’s Kick-Ass brings back Aaron Johnson as the title hero and Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl, when they team with other heroes to take down Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s Red Mist character. Faison plays another hero named Doctor Gravity.
Where you might have seen him: He’s best known for playing Turk on “Scrubs” but he’s also appeared in Remember the Titans and Skyline.
    .
Matt Lucas joins cast of Community

The show: Heading into its fourth season, the show follows a group of friends at a bizarre community college and the insane things that happen to them there. Lucas was thought to be playing one of the college’s newest professors, but now an updated report pegs his role as “TBD.” Mysterious…
Where you might have seen him: Lucas had small roles in Bridesmaids and Alice in Wonderland, but may be best known for his work on British TV shows like “Little Britain” and “Shooting Stars.”
    .
Jonathan Daniel Brown joins cast of Milo

    Getty Images

The movie: This strange story follows a man (Ken Marino) who discovers he has a demon living in his intestines, and he lets it out during a therapy session and names it Milo. I know. I told you it was weird. Brown will play an intern who works for Marino, and the cast also includes “Community” star Gillian Jacobs and Peter Stormare.
Where you might have seen him: He was one of the leads in the party comedy Project X.
    .
Amy Smart and Joshua Leonard join dark comedy The Unkindness of Ravens

    Getty Images

The movie: A group of friends’ lives are changed when they run into a weird nature photographer. Smart and Leonard play a married couple with problems who are hosting a Fourth of July weekend reunion.
Where you might have seen them: Amy Smart has starred in films like Crank, Rat Race, and Road Trip, while Leonard has appeared in The Blair Witch Project and Shark Night 3D.
