It’s been a year since Steve Jobs sadly lost his battle with cancer. In honor of his memory, Apple released a video and open letter to commemorate his legacy. Apple’s CEO Tim Cook wrote an open letter which begins, “Steve’s passing one year ago today was a sad and difficult time for all of us. I hope that today everyone will reflect on his extraordinary life and the many ways he made the world a better place..
Steve Jobs was a passionate innovator who had a love for artistry and music. It was his love of music that became the canal through which the iPod and iTunes were born. Since then, listening to, sharing and discovering music were revolutionized. It makes sense for us to not only honor late legendary artists like Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston; but to also look back on those who created the tools with which we appreciate their work.

One of the greatest gifts Steve gave to the world is Apple. No company has ever inspired such creativity or set such high standards for itself. Our values originated from Steve and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple. We share the same privilege and responsibility of carrying his legacy into the future.
