Wheeling, WV is known for its incredible history and we want to share that with you. The Wheeling Suspension Bridge is the true gateway to the West. A true site to see in both day and night. Or take a tour of our Victorian Old Town. Go back to your childhood at Kruger Street Toy and Train Museum. West Virginia became a state at the Historical WV Independence Hall. Its courtroom was used for the debates that established statehood; Completely restored and full of interesting artifacts from the era. Historic National Road is full of landmarks. If was the first federally funded highway. It’s sixteen mile stretch is uninterrupted by modern construction. Along this, there are many sites to see starting with the crest of Wheeling Hill which has been the home of a bronzed Mingo Indian for close to 100 yrs. To the left would be McCulloch’s leap. Major Samuel McCulloch took the terrifying leap with his horse to save the residents of Ft. Henry from raiding Indians. They both survived this leap and are honored still today.
