I am presenting my organization's cause to the world,in an effort to bring an awareness, of the silent Cries of our disturbed and broken Children. I'm becoming the voice of the silent and the silenced. Working as a Therapeutic and MR/ Parenting Specialist(dubbed by my collegues),Advocate/Mentor/Fostering, and, having a child of my own with special needs, I have discovered an entire "silent" population, many of whom were born into less than acceptable socio/economical and educational deficits.. being completely disregarded as human beings that are incapable of having needs, or feeling pain and dejection. Let me assure you this is not true. Every child has hope ..no matter how disturbed or wounded they may be. This is happening right here in America,not only in third world countries. Every child feels... They shouldn't be herded to warehouses,rather,(school settings with lesser neccessary supplies,equipment,materials,accomodations,and individual assistance required) less credentialed teachers(my child had one teacher that's background was Real Estate,that had been reported, and confirmed, by the principle,caught hitting another differently abled child,and the school kept her anyway..(What's with that???) ... She stated the teacher had a bad day? ..This is unacceptable for our children, but a very common practice with our disturbed and broken children ..they aren't accomodated,helped and worked with, having their individual needs met, along with the necessary tools that are essential for their learning abilities in the classroom settings, They have the right to become the best they can be, no matter what their issue. They must have their individual needs addressed to break the vicious cycle of neglect that becomes abuse.They are human beings, that feel and and want and need and love, just as we all do..They deserve to be treated and valued as much as anyone else .. but, they must have our help. They cannot do it for themselves. I strive to bring an awareness to parent's of typical children. Please teach your children to respect the fact that because someone is differently abled.. that doesn't mean they deserve less respect, or to be hurt,mentally and phisically , or just outright bullied. Most of these kids must work 10 times harder to accomplish small milestones that we each take for granted.When this is compounded with failure to provide special assistance for their specific needs,along side the bullying they endure,they become frustrated and just give up.This is our underlying cause of rage which in turn becomes violence! They work extremely hard in comparison. Funding is needed for helping provide research, evaulations, technological assistive equipment, peer shadowing tutor salaries, special supplies and materials on an individual basis. Each individual has specific needs that are unique to them and these needs must be addressed. They are unable, and cannot do it without our help . My quest is to give each disturbed and wounded child a chance to become the best they can possibly be. Allow them to contribute back to their maximum ability. They have alot to teach us.
