Music
I love Silence. A great band from the south pole. No instruments, front men, or anything really. Their graphics are spare and minimal. It's catchy, an undercurrent. Can't find it on itunes, but you can download it for free almost everywhere, anytime.
Movies
Pal Joey, 8 1/2, Day of the Locusts, The Hustler, Gilda, To Kill a Mockingbird, Grapes of Wrath, In Cold Blood, Pandora's Box, Psycho, The Party, The Misfits, Santa Sangre, La Dolce Vita, Cocaine Cowboys, all of the Hitchcocks, Fellinis...if it's old and crumbly or new and shiny, I just might like it.
Television
Well, when you aren't glued to the ocean, television can be helpful.
Books
Truman Capote, Carson McCullers, Colette, Camus, Milan Kundera, Augusten Burroughs, Zadie Smith, Bret Easton Ellis, Marguerite Duras, Martin Amis, Joan Didion, Alain de Botton. software manuals, other smatterings of non-fiction
Heroes
Currently accepting applications for my 2008-2009 heroic worship allotment.
About me: The more baroque, the better. I like old clocks. I like going into strangers' houses with video cameras and notepads. I have a fetish for antique notions of the future that never came to be, because they were the actual present tense of the past. And no one knew it.
I get paid to do fun and unusual things. Voiceovers. Acting. Graphic design. Casting assistance. Fixing up old houses. The other day, I got paid to dress up as a ninja girl, sit in a parking lot of a nondescript Plano mall, and attack Ericsson employees with a plastic sword. I'm *THE* voice of Michigan Bingo. You never know what I'll be up to.

The March Dr. Sketchy session is this Saturday! March 7... Which is tomorrow at the time of this note. Sorry for such short notice, but better late, right? That said... here's the skinny:
Session is at City Tavern, 4p - 7. Our model is the fabulous real-life comicbook pinup girl, Ruby Rocket... coming all the way from Austin to pose for us! She is super! ...and if you come dressed a a superhero yerself, admission is FREE!
Get there before we start at 4pm to get the best seats, and draw all the poses. It'll be a ball! Drinking, Dames, Games, and of course, general Debauchery.
We are asking the question, "if you had 1 minute to share something from your life, what would you share?" We are then recording/documenting what people say and will piece it all together into a feature length documentary. Some people so far have shared life experiences, advice, quotes, things they wish they knew growing up and many other things.
Come out and participate this Saturday in our Documentary! Filming (2/7 from 10am-3pm) in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We will be taking some mail in submissions from people outside of the area if you want to record something and send it in. Or if you know anyone in the area that should participate, please let them know about it!
