When Machines Dream has been influenced by a wide variety of electronic & pop music. From early Kraftwerk & Devo through the 80's New Wave and Synth Pop era, into the 90's House and Trance scenes, Swedish Dance, Electro Clash and beyond.
When Machines Dream was founded in the late 90's by John Mendenhall. An Obsession with the sounds of analog synthesizers and drum machines, coupled with a lifelong interest in science fiction formed the basis of his vision for the new project. In this vision, the lines between the virtual and the tactile smear together - synthesis of man & self-actualized machines in a pixilated, dystopian future. The resulting sound is an eclectic mix of Dance, New Wave, Trance and Drum 'N Bass, forged with a vast array of classic and modern synthesizers and Drum Machines. Influenced by a wide variety of electronic music from the last few decades,and profoundly affected as a participant in the 90's rave scene, When Machines Dream draws on these elements and pulls them together to forge a sound that is equally at home on the dancefloor and the iPod.
In addition to When Machines Dream, I am the singer and co-producer of Oscillator X with my musical partner Kyle Ward. When Machines Dream & Oscillator X music has been featured in the video games Pump It Up (Pro, NX2, NXA & Jump(, iDance, Snake 360, Snowball Runner, etc. We have also performed across the USA & Europe. Kyle and I also produce the Eurodance act Coconut and own/ operate the record label SCI Recordings.

Hey I checked it out and she did really good. Thanks for posting the original too. I just couldn't do the ra-in thing right. Sounds good and polished. You can produce man but you know that. Can't wait to get the new one. It was great to talk to you again. If kyle is ever interested I love to run my song Matchsticks by him. You two would go apeshit on that one but then again you know I'd be your tool anytime. Wish you were here to write songs with. Hopefully I'll I get get to work and go to Euro. That would be killer!
