WHERE IS BRIAN SHAFFER???
He is the missing 28 year old medical student who seemed to vanish after a night out with friends on Friday, March 31, 2006. He had spent the evening with Clint Florence and Meredith Reed at the Ugly Tuna Saloona located at 1546 N. High Street. Clint and Meredith reported Brian left to go up towards the band and was never seen again. They tried to call Brian but his phone went directly to voicemail so they left the bar at approximately 2 a.m., Saturday, April 1, 2006.
Brian was not reported missing until Sunday evening, approximately 40 hours after he was last seen so the most important hours after his disappearance were lost.
Brian was supposed to leave on vacation with his girlfriend on Monday and was reportedly excited about the trip. His mother had just passed away after a long battle with cancer (3 weeks before his disappearance) and this trip was a Christmas present from her. Brian did have a lot of stress in his life including his mother's death and he was a second year medical student knee deep in exams.
Numerous searches have been conducted since Brian's disappearance including Texas Equusearch in August 2007. We are hoping they will return in 2008 to continue the search. Brian's father, Randy, has been instrumental in keeping Brian's name out in the media.
There are many questions that surround this case that need to be answered. According to the police, there are no suspects. Someone, somewhere...knows something and they owe it to Brian's family to come forward with answers. Whether a random act of violence occurred or someone close has more answers, I pray that 2008 will bring the answers Brian's family needs.
SOMEONE KNOWS SOMETHING AND IF EVER THERE WAS A HOPE IT HAS BEEN RENEWED OF LATE. I GOT A CHANCE TO SEE SOME OF THE TV SHOW THAT WAS JUST ON. AT LEAST THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE STILL LOOKING. I DONT KNOW IF IT GIVES ANY COMFORT TO THOSE WHOSE FAMILY MEMBERS ARE MISSING, BUT IN A UNIQUE WAY IT GIVES ME HOPE AS A SEEKER THAT THEY ARE STILL NOT FORGOTTEN. HUGS AND BLESSINGS.
