Welcome to myspace webpage. BJ has been missing for so long now that our family assumes she is deceased. We have no answers and it's a cold case now.
BJ had a passion for rollerskating in her younger years. Her favorite color =purple.
She loved life. There were times she could have a big heart if she thought someone needed something. She loved swimming. Also, she was Daddys little girl. She had a beautiful smile. She usually was playing around laughing and cutting up with friends and family. One of her best friends name was Tammy. They grew up together and made many memories good and bad together.
Music
BJ loved music. She really liked to sing along with the words of the song. She had a Kerokee Machine that was used alot as she grew up. She had alot of favorite songs.
Movies
She liked Scary movies because her mother loved to watch them with her. When it got very scary she'd grab her Mom and hug her really tightly.

This page has now been dedicated to many more causes. If you'd like to join our world of goodness just request to be added as a friend. Welcome friends. This site is also dedicated to all of the missing around the world. You'll be surprised at how many people are missing from our world.
The following is the history of why this page began years ago.
This page is dedicated to Billie Jo Beam-Hughes.
Bj has been missing since June of 2000.
If you knew her , Share some of your stories.
Many people miss my sister very much.
If you know anything feel free to tell me. I'd do the same for you, if it were your child or missing loved one. This I promise.
After 9 years ,we need closure.
To you BJ many be a no one: To me she is Everything! She is one of our family member that we love very much.
BJ was 20 years old at the time of her disappearance. We miss having her in our lives so,I made this page so we all can have a place to share all of our memories.
Well, I'll tell you the story of my sister. On March 25, 1996 our father died tragically from a (?? self inflicted ??)gun shot wound to the head. My sister found him. After this, she took the chosen path of being a young spirited party hard (drinking/ hard drug usage) life style. She began making new friends (good and bad) along the way.
BJ lived at home with her blind disabled mother Laura. BJ always checked on her blind, disabled mother's welfare on a daily basis.Laura was confided to a wheelchair. She had gone blind from her disability of severe diabetes and from the many medical problems that come along with this disease.
On morning of July 6, 2000, BJ Hughes had left their home to go on a week trip to the beach with some friends from the area of Pelzer S.C. and Williamston S.C.
A week and a half later Laura learned that that the friends had returned back from the beach. And that BJ had not been with them. Laura then reported BJ missing to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.
BJ Hughes was last seen visiting friends on the afternoon of July 6,2000 in the town of Williamston SC. She caught a ride at the Williamston Curb Market to the intersection of HWY 8 and HWY 20. She was last seen walking towards the payphone at the Exxon Hickory Point gas station at 3 pm in the afternoon. The friend passed the Lie Detector Test.
I could not help find BJ due being disabled by an auto accident prior (5-2000) to her disappearance. But over the years, I have placed flyers throughout the town of Williamston and in the Pelzer SC area.
For now, I will continue to try to find some answers towards closure. If anyone has information ,you can tell me on a confidential nature. She was our sister, an Aunt to our children who were young at the time and became upset over her disappearance. She was a friend to many people. You see she was a loved one that's is important to other people.
No one has seen or heard from BJ since the date of July 6, 2000.
On June 22, 2004, BJ 's disabled mother, Laura passed away after faithfully sitting by the phone daily waiting for that one phone call.
To make matters even worse, Laura's funeral arrangements were even against BJ's parents wishes. Laura wanted to be cremated then she wanted her ashes to be sprinkled out with our fathers ashes in Gatlinburg Tennessee. BJ would of had to sign for this to be completed for our parents wishes, which couldnt be done because of BJ's disappearance . So, we had to have a ground burial.
We were told that after BJ had been missing for several more years, to have BJ declared dead . After this happens, we could unbury her mother and have her cremated. Adding expenses(which we don't have), in order to fulfill our deceased parents wishes.
I assure you that our parents would HAUNT someone if they could for harm towards BJ and for DESTROYING their after-life wishes. I know that their souls are not at peace.
At the time of her disappearance BJ weighed 190 lbs. She was 5'6". She has brown eyes and brown hair.
This is still an active case and I would like to appeal to the public to cast your minds back to that time and if you heard of any rumor or think you might know something, please just let us know. We want to know what happened to BJ and we cannot rest until we have some kind of closure.
For more information about BJ or if you would like to report any information to help locate her call Investigator Garland Major at 864-260-4427 or 864-260-1006 or call the Anderson County Sheriffs Office at 864-260-4400. Anyone can Call We Tip
These Tips are always anonymous, WeTip never knows who you are. The hotlines are answered by bilingual tip operators, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
When someone calls WeTip, no one asks them who they are of where they live. The operator will answer, "this is the WeTip hotline, please do not give your name" after this the WeTip operator asks some questions to find out about the crime and who committed it. The operator will give the caller a case number so that they can call back if they find out more information, or if they want to find out the status of the case. No one will ever know who made the call...Not us... Not ever!
The tipster is then asked if they are interested in a reward if there is an arrest and a conviction. If they are interested in a reward, they are given a fictitious code name. This is the name to give when they pick up their reward. If the person who was turned in gets arrested and is found guilty, then a reward of up to $1,000 is offered to the tipster. The reward is paid at the post office chosen by the person who gave the tip. They will receive the cash reward money by giving the code name that was given them when the tip was first given.
WeTip forwards the information to law enforcement, in the proper jurisdiction. The information is faxed to designated investigators in member cities. It is up to law enforcement to decide the best course of investigative action to take at that point. WeTip tracks the cases through police custody and prosecution and then when there has been a conviction in the case, WeTip approves a reward, and generates a press release, distributed to local media, and here on the internet, informing the caller (informant) there there is a reward approved on the case.
WeTip is not an investigative agency. We are a neutral independent 3rd party organization that operates fully staffed hotlines, answered in both English and Spanish, that assures the caller complete anonymity. We do no actual investigation of our own. WeTip acts as an anonymous conduit, through which information flows safely from the informant to the police, sheriffs, and investigators in several different jurisdictions.
The WeTip phenomenon has affected more lives than anyone will ever know. Thousands of crimes have been prevented and countless lives have been saved due to WeTip's key idea. Citizens got involved and anonymously gave information to police through WeTip hotlines. This information aids the police and enables citizens to act as the eyes and ears of the community.
