Interests

  • Television

I admit I am a confirmed reality show junkie. If they ever start a Reality Show Anonymous group, I wouldn’t go…who wants to be cured? I’m just that hooked. Gimme American Idol and Dancing with the Stars any day. I also enjoy the CSI shows on TV, as well as the FBI profiling shows. Oh, and Heroes ROCKS! Showtime's Huff and Decker. You'd think I'd like The L Word but I really don't.
  • Books

I enjoy reading or listing to audio books by Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Robert Jordan, Mercedes Lackey, Anne Rule, James Patterson, Anne McCaffrey, and oh-so-many others.
  • Heroes

Rosa Parks - It takes courage to stand for your principles with your friends and other like-minded people supporting you, standing beside you against a common foe. I cannot imagine the terror of making that stand - well, okay, “sit” - all alone, within the enemy’s territory, threatened by angry, vicious, bigoted jackals who are all stronger than you and carry weapons liberally stained with the blood of your family and friends. I sincerely regret never having the opportunity to meet Mrs. Parks in this incarnation. May I exhibit even one-tenth her bravery should I ever be faced with a similar need to make a stand for my principles.

About me:

My prejudice is really an oxymoron because I am just SO annoyed by prejudiced people. I find it difficult to deal those who are bigoted, closed-minded to others’ race, religion, orientation, etc. ad infinitum. Show me a fundiwacko trying to shove their religion down my throat and I’ll show you a 4’11” dynamo ready to defend her beliefs with intense theological debate. I love a good debate on religion, where all parties are open-minded and willing to talk without rancor or judgment. But try to tell me my beliefs are invalid because you say so or some man-made book says so and I tend to go ballistic.

Who I'd like to meet:

Rosa Parks
Jesus Christ
Mahatma Ghandi
the Dalli Lama

I realize that two of these people are no longer on our plane of existence, but that doesn't lessen my longing to sit down with them and have a long heart-to-heart talk.

NOW, for the original intent of this subject: Anyone who is open-minded and non-judgmental is welcome in my camp! [AUTHOR'S NOTE: This last is, in actuality, a closed-minded and bigoted statement by the writer. While trying to promote herself in an approachable and positive light, she inadvertently and unintentionally promoted segregation and civil rights violations toward a portion of our population (those people who are closed minded and judgmental, that's who, silly). This poses a dilemma since technically the author is no longer welcome on her own page and must leave and not come back. Bummer.]
