Thank you Jason for getting George in there, as you and everyone here knows This is not just George's life at stake but a lot of peoples, and their lives are at stake because of not being diagnosed and treated properly, and of not having 'allocated' funds released for them to do so.
You don't hear much about this subject anymore and that by no means means that a lot of the problems have been rectified.
Meanwhile, any individuals, grownups and/or children who were in lower Manhattan in the weeks and months after Sept 11th even if they're not sick at this time they need to closely monitor their health situations. Anything that does come up in terms of infections or diseases, if properly diagnosed and treated means that they don't have to pass away way before their time. That is the reality for a lot of folks involved who have since passed away from their exposure to the toxins tragically released that were covered up for the sake of normalcy. <

(EXCERPTS OF AN OPEN LETTER FROM GEORGE TABB)..................... I was living by the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 when those mass murderers attacked our country and killed a lot of my friends. To make things worse, they left a mess that OUR OWN GOVERNMENT denies exists. What kind of mess? The debris from two of the largest buildings in the world collapsing. While common sense would tell ANYONE that the air is dangerous, especially with the fires burning and all, our own government with THE EPA lied to our faces. They said it was safe, and we should continue to live near the smoking crematorium. AFTER getting sick and doing some of my own investigating, I found, what of course, were shocking results. The air WAS POISON and it WAS going to KILL PEOPLE. Hell, it was already making people with pre-existing conditions a lot worse. You know, like if you had asthma, it was harder to breathe. The same thing happened with my stomach. Did anyone believe me? Not really. So I took action. I went on TV, in magazines, and in newspapers, telling anyone I could that this was not a good situation. Mostly I was laughed at and called controversial. Then when our government started offering EVERYONE in New York City FREE air filters, I could see a pattern emerging. Fix this giant wound with a band-aid. Well, that wound has grown into a full blown infection that is now killing residents, workers, and rescuers alike. And that includes ME. Why do I hate this so much? Because Im the one who saw this coming a mile away. I said everywhere I could there was going to be fallout and cancer clusters. Most peoples answers were to snicker behind my back and call me Henny Penny. People like Fox News. Well folks, the sky did fall, and now I'm sick. A TON of money was raised for 911 victims. Where is that money? The hell if I know. I got some of it to help me move away after a year and a half of living hell. A little. A very little. And, everything I owned ended up in a landfill in Staten Island. Now its 2006, and I have found myself bankrupt and really sick (very 9-11 related). I have had over a foot of my large intestines removed, two more surgeries on that area, and now, a raging infection that seems to be very mysterious. My doctor tells me I need all these expensive tests to find out whats going .. I die, and when I turned to our own government, all I have faced is red-tape, and the sorry excuse that there just isnt funding available for this sort of thing. I KNEW THIS WAS COMING. I cant work because I cant stay healthy, or even get healthy, and the hell if Im going on public assistance. Because thats just what they want. Me to be another victim of this whole mess, and have to depend on them, when they lied in the first place - enough so that lots of us are sick. The clock is ticking away and if the doctors cant find whats wrong with me and treat it on time, well, just add my name to that list of those who perished on September 11th. This SUCKS. I've done benefits for others all of my life, and its come to this. Having to ask for money to SAVE MY OWN LIFE. I have 2 books out, and stuff like that, so you may think I've got funding. Truth is, fame and fortune do NOT go hand in hand. I'm broke, and dont know what to do except this. If I dont get some help, I wont be able to write anymore. And that's what I want to do. Write more books, live a normal life, and continue to speak out and help those around me. The United States Government acts like I dont exist. And thats a damn shame. Because I LOVE this country. About me: The motto on this page is if regular people don't care then why should the politicians..............
This page was set up in May 2006 when I realized George Tabb and a heck of a lot of people (up to 70,000) who were exposed to and many currently sick from unwitting exposure to a dangerous cocktail of chemicals released at Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan in the wake of 9/11 could not afford their medical bills or in many cases didn't realize that they should even be monitoring their health in regards to that exposure.......also, that a lot of regular people didn't even know what was going on because of in large part a deliberate media blackout for 5 years (and which to some extant still exists or information and progress is in fact being propagandized). Unfortunately even when there IS a story one week but not in next week's paper people assume the problems have been rectified. Far from it.
WHICH BRINGS ME TO GEORGE TABB: George, nearby resident of The World Trade Center and one of the volunteers in the aftermath was soon an early whistleblower predicting a future cancer cluster and interviewed by Brian Williams on MSNBC, People Magazine and The Washington Post, the few media outlets back then that dared touch the story of the true aftermath of 9/11, right before everyone in the media at large was instructed to shut up about it, or perhaps thought it not important enough to cover. Now that the media veil has been lifted somewhat (although it's still being treated as a 'local issue' more people realize the existence and severity of this problem that's a great start however many affected and in danger of dying way before their time, such as the heroic first responders who are not allowed to even speak to media as they have been threatened with loss of pension, there is a long way to go and people are still very much in trouble at this point. Many of the first responders extremely sick are being denied disability even though their conditions were job related (everybody being sick with the same laundry list of illnesses) must still report for work so as not to lose benefits for their families on top of struggling with mounting medical bills and losing everything they've worked their whole lives for. That's just speaking of the first responders, there were many others unwittingly exposed: nearby residents, volunteers, children other individuals who worked nearby or there for various reasons from all over.................
This is a solvable problem. Release 'allocated funds' to those who need it so they don't drop dead way before their time. It's that simple (except for the part about red tape yes) however, simple as that goal is, it's not over yet, it's just beginning for those affected. The victims of the aftermath coverups who at this time cannot afford proper medical help, needed operations, medication, oxygen tanks for breathing problems are dropping dead left and right to put it bluntly and none of them need to with proper medical care: Things being diagnosed and treated promptly, need help.
Also, the National Birth Defect Registry sponsored by the Birth Defect Research for Children, INC. has agreed to help collect data regarding the birth defects of children born to those working in Rescue and Recovery. The effects of the exposure will be around for a long time.
So George Tabb the last few years due to his own exposure has been grappling with severe health problems and has been spending all his time trudging back and forth to doctors and specialists when he can afford to that is. There's a lot of folks like him all sickened by the same thing. Politicians pledging and allocating money to actually help Ground Zero Victims: Where is it? Unfortunately due to governmental red tape, the two federally funded clinics are only allowed to ‘deal with’ certain ailments and illnesses caused by the toxicity meaning the programs are by no means comprehensive, George was just diagnosed with Polycystic kidney Disease which he was told they would not treat because that is something that is inherited at birth so they will even look into other symptons caused by that -and no one in his family has ever had that. Polysystic kidney disease has been proven to be caused by extreme exposure to harmful cheicals in lab mice, but not in humans.......So basically George Tabb is one of many who are being further harmed and left to die by old fashioned bureaucratic red tape and denials. Now, to those few who may cynically say "Why don't we go after the terrorists who caused 9/11 to pay victims med bills.". Well, who caused the attack is not the issue at all, it was factions of the United States Government that caused tens of thousands of people to become poisoned unbeknownst to them, and, who will be coming down with the same laundry list of illness and not be aware until it's too late to treat any of it. George and all the others sickened in the aftermath and those becoming sick now are ordinary human beings WHO NEED THE REST OF US to shout from the rooftops and rattle chains and not let them be shoved under the rug again...
The term 'Bystander effect' applies. Being in pain, having trouble breathing, needing operations, things removed, being beleaguered by new infections, not being properly helped medically, all because of the coverups and repeated denials for many years by the Current Federal Government and then millions of dollars allotted to help is not going where it should be going is beyond ugly.. Families will have exhausted their life savings, lost their houses, gone deeply into debt before any of this is resolved 'in the victims favor' in the court system. There are times when b red tape merely waits for people to die and the problem goes away. I don't want to wait and see if bureaucracy can resolve the issue of their medical expenses. Justice comes a little too late for people 6 feet under. Having ones name postumously scratched on a wall is of no comfort to the families and friends they’ve left behind. If Spiderman saw something wrong he'd jump in and correct things without thinking about any of the sociopolitical or sociopolite aspects. It all starts by lifting one or a few people up at a time.

Who I'd like to meet: WHAT HAPPENED AND WHAT'S GOING ON NOW:
There have been several recent newspaper stories about the Federal Government even President Bush himself pledging and allocating money to "help Ground Zero victims". "Help is on the way" has the big sound byte. But where exactly is this money? Allocated funds are not actually being released to treat anyone involved, it's for the most part sitting in the bank collecting interest and going towards salaries of those in charge of overseeing the funds. The Captive insurance fun which was set up 2 years ago with $1 billion dollars specifically to help people whose health were affected in lower Manhattan, around 50 million dollars of it has been spent FIGHTING claims, none of it actually being used to help anyone. Meanwhile the woman in charge of The Captive Insurance fund receives a nice salary and health insurance for her as well as her own family.
Not only is this a greedy tactic but it is downright cruel. Administrators not to mention attorneys reaping the rewards.
Author/musician George Tabb was living close by to the World Trade Center back then and helping out as a volunteer in the aftermath. He and everyone else were assured by the head of The Environmental Protection Agency under the orders of Secretary of State Condeeleza Rice that the air quality in Lower Manhattan was indeed safe. Pregnant women and children allowed to be in the vicinity, Stuyvesant Highschool students were sent back to school blocks away............... Richard Grasso, former chairman of The NY Stock Exchange under investigation was found to have recieved a $125 million bonus package for reopening the Exchange a week after Sept. 11th. (Oct. 2006 issue of TIME magazine). So, a week after 9/11 nearby residents were told it was safe to go back home, workers and volunteers lied to about safety conditions, and, were not given proper protective gear (contrary to some recent published reports by officials -a case of telling a second lie to cover up the first one)..................... Some people are only becoming sick now. In January of last year, a healthy and active former ground zero worker, began feeling a shortness of breath and made a doctor's appointment. He passed away 4 months later, waiting to recieve a lung transplant and not being able to afford medications he needed.............All because he wasn’t made aware of the fact that he should’ve been monitoring his health.......On Sept. 11th 2001 and in the weeks and the months after, compassion came pouring in from everywhere, there was no thoughts about color or religion or class distinction. Everybody showed an extreme amount of humanity back then...................... Humanity and compassion is not a switch one should turn on and off depending on their schedules. Everybody needs to, and should want to, show that humanity and that compassion for the ground zero ill who are constantly being shoved under the rug.......................... For 5 years The Federal govt. denied any responsibility of the E.P.A. coverup not to mention denying that anyone was even sickened by the toxic environment. Finally they began acknowledging that, yes, people MAY HAVE been sickened however, like I said earlier, victims claims are being rejected. Should these people, on top of suffering, and having to worry about new infections springing up, many of them slowly dying if not already dead, should these people and their families also have to to lose everything they've worked their whole lives for on top of that? ONLY LAST YEAR DID DOCTORS RECIEVE "GUIDELINES" ON HOW TO TREAT THESE PEOPLE. FOR FIVE YEARS MANY PEOPLE WERE WRONGLY DIAGNOSED. The federal govt. has a responsibility to completely take care everybody's medical,operation and medication costs. All of them who were at, or near Ground Zero suffering the same exact maladies. Coincidence? All of them happening within these past 6 years. Not too long ago, there had been strong disagreements regarding the 500 hundred million dollar design for the ground zero memorial to honor the dead, front page news everywhere, The World Trade Center Illnesses is a considered a local issue. Even though there were people from all parts of the Globe in Lower Manhattan for various reasons............. Living victims of that toxicity not being able to afford lung transplants or other operations, people not even being made aware they might have things that medically need to be looked into: that's local news.

So yes, the Government, many rich corporations, super rich businessmen, have tons of money for all kinds of things THEY are interested in.....................$500 million to to design a memorial honoring the dead (and I've been told some people are going around the country to collect more funds for that memorial).
People world wide were upset over Sept. 11th. We cannot wait for proposals, lawyers, and bureaucratic justice to kick in. Some of these people have already died because they were not being properly helped in the beginning or they can't afford to go to the doctor anymore -assuming they ever could. New York City Detective James Zadroga, acknowledged as first "official" official death from the toxic ground zero environment', would still be alive today, according to his father, if his health problems had been taken seriously and he'd been properly diagnosed and treated in the beginning............. We can discuss and argue and cast obvious blame til the cows come home but we can't forget about the actual people, what they are losing each day that goes by as we're discussing politics and railing against the govt. or pondering conspiracy theories.........or ignoring them.
