The Whirly Bones Circus Arts Collective is a group of New Orleans artists who train, play and occasionally perform together. We offer classes and skill-shares in aerial arts, yoga, clowning, acrobatics, hooping and juggling on a donation basis out of a community friendly warehouse in the Marigny. Becoming a member is cheap and easy. In exchange Whirly Bonians can use the practice space to train and teach while they enjoy and create a community of physical entertainers. Our members perform for conventions, for locals, on the street, in the theater and in the circus. When we don’t do that, we are spending every hour and every dime practicing and teaching and practicing some more. Drawing from new and old circus, physical theater and the lost tradition of American vaudeville, we pursue the unusual, the hilarious and the amazing. We seek to rekindle the latent ludic impulses of our culture by personally fusing work and play in our own lives, and sharing the product of that passion with the public!

Fleur de Tease is performing our season premiere this Sunday at One Eyed Jacks. The theme is School of Rock so you can expect to see all the phenomenal aerial, magic, and burlesque with a special rock twist. Also because of the evacuation we cut the ticket price down to only $10. Come party with us at One Eyed Jacks this Sunday at 8 or 10! The sultry sweethearts of Fleur de Tease, will unveil the "History of Burlesque" in the seminar, Behind the Velvet Curtain: Ladies of Burlesque Revealed, a free event at the Cabildo in Jackson Square. This special event includes a lecture, a burlesque show, and even a burlesque class where you can learn the technique of the "Art of Tease."
