Even though the show's over, let's keep the spirit in our hearts and continue to support the cause!
We're dedicated to helping our furry friends. The Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA (AAWL), Arizona's oldest and largest no-kill shelter, provides adoption, resource and education programs that improve the quality of life for dogs and cats. AAWL's shelter facilities provide a temporary home for nearly 2,000 dogs and cats every year. All of our dogs and cats are vaccinated, spayed or neutered and microchipped before they go up for adoption. Founded in 1971, AAWL's priority is to take in adoptable animals from other shelters where they might be euthanized and to care for them until each is adopted into a loving, lifetime home. AAWL receives no government funding and is supported solely by donations. AAWL is located at 30 N. 40th Place in Phoenix. For more information, visit www.aawl.org or call 602-273-6852.
Here's what YOU can do TODAY to start helping!
1. Spread the news: AAWL has cats and dogs, puppies and kittens for adoption just like the Pound, just like the Humane Society - please come down next time you want some company!
2. Add AAWL on Myspace as a friend today! Display them in your TOP FRIENDS!
3. Use GOODSEARCH as your search tool, home page and shopping
portal! Make sure to add Arizona Animal Welfare League as Your Charity of Choice!

BLU BROADCAST
Welcome to our Whiskey Blu Broadcast! Here we've compiled our videos into one slick player, so use the player's buttons to navigate forward or back through the videos.
We're really proud of some of these shows,
particularly our Live performance at Backstage Pass' 1992 Arizona
Entertainment Awards 'Gala', where Whiskey Blu took "BAND OF THE YEAR" our very first year performing - we were floored! A Special Kudos to Joel Samuel for capturing this and many more local events throughout the years!
We included is our TAKE
YOU DOWN Video, Whiskey Blu's only staged video, originally produced for
MTV Play, but never fully edited and finished.
Whiskey Blu, Phoenix's award winning All Female Hard Rock act launched in the early 90's. While managed by Rock-On Productions Bob Donavon, these
hard-working girls blazed onto the club circuit throughout the southwest and rocked radio waves far beyond.
In their first year, the band performed almost 200 shows and landed prestigious local music awards including Backstage Pass' "Best Band in Arizona", New Times' Reader's Choice Awards "Best Rock Band" and Fastlane Magazine's "Fastest Rising Band". Packing houses wherever they played, they quickly became a club owner favorite, as they were able to bring in crowds six days a week!
Along with their popular originals, the girls won over skeptical crowds with their dead-on covers of such artists as JUDAS PRIEST, JOAN JETT, AEROSMITH, KISS, MOTLEY CRUE, THE CULT, LED ZEPPELIN, FASTER PUSSYCAT, KISS and their show-stopping, fan favorite METALLICA'S "ENTER SANDMAN"!! With fan clubs in 28 states and 9 countries before the worldwide web - Whiskey Blu was well on their way to international
recognition!
Whiskey Blu, under new management, moved to Hollywood to play with other up and comers at the time, but just as the band's career was exploding, a combination of a bad publicist and a dishonest record label broke the band's morale. The heartbroken girls decided to take a break from the music scene and go their separate ways for a while and remained on hiatus, working on their own projects: some musical, some just experiencing family life.
In 2007, ex-manager Bob Donavon decided to create a Whiskey Blu tribute page on MySpace. Event Planner Heather "Leather", during a periodic search for long lost friend and drummer for Whiskey Blu, Barb "Thee Animal" came across the Whiskey Blu fan page. Soon, whiskey Blu was encouraged to perform at a benefit concert showcasing Arizona’s best rock acts of the late 80’s early 90’s. Not only did they agree to reunite, they helped their own animal charities benefit, promoted the show, and worked tirelessly practicing to play together after having not played for over a decade. Nancy had not played guitar at all in several years, and Barb had to completely recreate and purchase her drum kit from memory, having not played drums at all since the band's break in the mid-90's.
The girls exploded onstage on Saturday June 7 2008 to a packed house at the Venue of Scottsdale and amidst cheering fans, rocked as if they had never parted. Fans claimed the girls sounded better than they ever had, and Wendy Rae's voice has aged to perfection! Following the success of the show, the girls collectively have agreed that if the stars align - they will perform and of bring down the house again!
We had a fantastic time at the Arizona All Stars Rock Reunion Benefit Concert!!!
Thank you ALL for coming out - check out video clips from the show!
Hey! How are things going with you? Just dropping by to let you know I posted a new tune on my page. It's called "Scrap Iron", and it's about a dude building a muscle car, but it's really a metaphor for life. Some lyrics are "Find a way or Make a way..." Hope it inspires you. I also hope you have a great 2010!!!
