.. .. What brings these Southern boys to the Mile High City? Was it the higher elevation introducing the possibility to truly get more drunk than we'd ever been? Or the quiet, away from the jibber jabber than can be many metro areas throughout this country. Time and space to think. Either way, after ten years of friendship, Amita Fukui and Jay Pennington crossed paths and began writing the smokey, liquor-flavored, musical love cake that has become Whiskey King Coalition. Being good old boys, they knew to remain true to their roots and bring an honest representation of themselves into this music. Yes sir, with pieces falling together, soul sauce has been created for your bland potato pancakes. After debuting at the Walnut Room on Nov. 6th, 2009, the band has made a gradual move forward. Whiskey King Coalition completed a 15 date tour that stretched from Little Rock, ARto the sunny shores of Venice Beach and back. Whiskey King Coalition is currently recording a three to four song demo that will be released this summer. Also, the band plans to release a short tour documentary (filmed and produced by Jeremy Gee; a truly amazing young talent and all around badass) to be released in the late summer/fall. Hold your britches tight and don't let go. This is going to be a good rest of the year. .... .... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ................................ .. What brings these Southern boys to the Mile High City? Was it the higher elevation introducing the possibility to truly get more drunk than we’d ever been? Or the quiet, away from the jibber jabber than can be many metro areas throughout this country. Time and space to think. Either way, after ten years of friendship, Amita Fukui and Jay Pennington crossed paths and began writing the smokey, liquor-flavored, musical love cake that has become Whiskey King Co. Being good old boys, they knew to remain true to their roots and bring an honest representation of themselves into this music. After two gigs as an acoustic duo, they teamed up with Chris Cash and Graham Waks to complete the coalition, a manifestation of different desires and common cause. Yes sir, with pieces falling together, soul sauce has been created for your bland potato pancakes. After debuting at the Walnut Room on Nov. 6th,2009, the band has made a gradual move forward. Whiskey King Co. recently completed a 15 date tour that stretched from Little Rock, ARto the sunny shores of Venice Beach and back.
