Bio
From humble beginning in Sophia, Bulgaria this band of gypsies has risen to international status in the world fusion genre. The band's name comes from the invisible beast that recovering addicts fight everyday of their life, whose whispers you cannot imagine, whose claws and teeth you cannot feel, drawing you back in. .. WotD brings a fresh and new perspective to the World music genre "It never is what it was". A blend of tradional Balkan and Middle Eastern paths fused with dark electronica. .. Formed in 2007, Whispers of the Dragon released their debut album in December of that year, " Tunisia ". The album featured an eclectic array of ethnic styles stretching the world from Asia to the Middle East . The album featured vocalist Ailsy Boyne, from Ireland and Jovan Dhiren Bulgarian born vocalist. .. In December of 2008, WotD released their second album, "Gypsy". The album concentrated a more Balkan approach utilizing more Eastern European instruments and for the first time tradional western percussion. In addition to the musical changes, two new vocalist , Rayna Skalova from Bulgaria and Aisha Samouah from Syria were added to the line-up. .. In combination with the CD release, a video of the title track "Gypsy" was released, which is available on this site (MySpace videos) as well as on Youtube. .. The band can be found on the internet radio at Pandora Radio, IM Radio, LastFM, and Mystic Soundscapes. CDs and downloads are availble worldwide (CDBABY, Itunes, LALA.com, Spotfy, Amazon MP3, Renagades Music, CD Connection, etc. ..
