Songwriter and neo progressive keyboardist Matt Hopkins' newest project Whispers of the Dragon, fuses dark electronica with a harmonious fusion of Eastern European styles, Middle Eastern and African beats overlayed with haunting female vocalists. The band Whispers of the Dragon has been compared to Dead Can Dance, Irfan, Niyaz, Stellamara, and Azam Ali, in a style, which blends together a variety of ethnic instruments, darkwave electronica.
The band blends alternating styles of world fusion with a more traditional approach of Balkan/Gypsy music while showcasing the two female vocalists.
