I've been listening to a lot of world music lately.
Khaled, Zap Mama, Lhasa de Sela, Celia Cruz, Tito Puentes, the Soundtrack to Rize, Don Omar, Braza, Cesaria Evora, Yousou N'dour, Daddy Yankee, Buena Vista Social Club, stuff like that, but I love MSI, Slayer, Rolling Stones, Hendrix, Joplin, Joan Baez, Jefferson Airplane, Stevie Ray, Van Morrison, Nirvana, Neil Young, Loreena McKinnett, MeShell N'Degeocello, Bjork, Keoki, Miss Kitten, Felix da Housecat, DJ Tiesto, Ian Van Dahl, Orbital, Paul Oakenfold, Jeffree Star, etc. ....let's just say it's an eclectic mix, shall we? I like anything but country (except for Willie Nelson, Patsy Cline, and Johnny Cash), and really pop crap. I avoid that like the plague unless it's got a catchy enough tune to shake my ghetto booty to. heh.

About me: I'm in the United States Coast Guard as a third class food service specialist petty officer. FS3 White to be short. I've now been on part of an Alaska patrol, and have been on three Southern Pacific (read: central america) patrols, and one southeast asian CARAT patrol. The last one wasn't nearly as bad as the first one, thanks in part to heavy duty medications. Better living through chemistry I always say! I had some rough times when we went to San Diego, but thanks to New Bridge, I'm doing good. I'm currently TAD on Coast Guard Island. Trying to work through my medical discharge, and hopefully will be home soon in the best city in the world: Austin, TX!

Guilty is OK: it means you acknowledge that something is wrong. I'm reading "The Runaway Jury" by John Grisham: it's about a trial where a smoker/lung cancer victim's widow is suing the big tobacco companies. Detailed testimony about how our lungs work and what cigarette smoking does to them. I'm hoping this will help me quit ... but I still bought a pack o' smokes on the way home. Here's what I remember about quitting: the anticipatory anxiety about it is worse than the actual withdrawal. Maybe we'll do it one of these days? koff koff hack spit
