I love all of the people here who are thinking other countries have better health care. @maggie: You can just go to the ER like every other lazy person in the world who doesn't want to pay for healthcare, under this bill you won't be getting into the doctor even with health insurance.

@GINA: Yes, I think everyone knows our system isn't perfect. It's still tons better than any other country. Sure, "everyone has insurance", but your children won't get into a doctor whenever they want. Ask any Canadian, if they break legs and such, they don't rush to the doctor, they just cope with it. You know you've heard of UK citizens and Canadians and many other foreigners coming to our country and using our hospitals for surgery. I don't know of anyone who lives outside of the US that thinks their healthcare is good. You state that your kids can get into the hospital whenever there sick? Not really, you'll never get them in. Just take them to the ER if they can't get into the doctor. My family isn't wealthy, and we have insurance and go to the doctor whenever needed.

@Jay Tarr: I agree with you, we need some socialism to work the country, otherwise the government would be almost pointless. However you don't want the government controlling everything. This country was built on freedom, with limited government. We've lasted like this and been alright. Now that "Change" is here, were just going to be a bunch of slaves to the government.

To anyone else: No, I'm not racist, no I'm not trying to offend anyone, and no I'm not making anything up. I just research things on my own rather than listen to what the mainstream media gets paid from the government to tell me. Really, read the bill for yourself if you have the time. I haven't read it myself, but the people who have, don't want it. The people who want it, haven't read it. It's sad how 90% of the government hasn't even read the bill they are trying to shove through.

VV Political experts on Myspace? I'm loving the pretentious people. Healthcare in general is malpractice.

Brandon, if you went to a public school, library, national park, use fire or police services, then you have used socialism. Do you think those things are bad? If so then I hope if you lose your job you will not take unemployment benefits "socialism" and when you retire you do not take a social security check or medicare"socialism".

England and Canada are going broke from health care. No country has a state-sponsored health care sytem that they can afford to continue. Do you really think the government can reduce the cost of anything? They never have before.

If this healthcare bill passes, I promise you the United States as it is will be gone.  Socializing healthcare is the first to socializing everything.  Yes, a lot of European countries are socialist and you should take a look at their economies.  Stagnant.  The free market and capitalism are what made this country great because everyone has the same opportunities.  I wont say that some people don't have things handed to them, but that's just the way things go.  Besides, the bill they are trying to pass is unconstitutional.  The government can't force you to purchase something if you don't want to.

England, Canada, France and other countries have National Health Care. It's not perfect but it's a hell of a lot better then what we have here in the U.S. My son and daughter don't qualify for medicaid but can't before medical insurance. If we lived in one of these other countries there wouldn't be a problem. They would be able to see a doctor anytime they were sick. The U.S. needs to stop dragging their feet and give health care to EVERYONE regardless of their income.
