Influences
Norman Mailer's The White Negro: Reflections of the Superficial Hipster
With their Bacchanal beats, shamanistic live performances and philosophy of recreational hedonism THE WHITE NEGROES are quite simply the last, great British rock 'n' roll band.
Taking their name from Norman Mailer's seminal beat essay, THE WHITE NEGROES formed in the summer of Love, Sex and Dancing to soundtrack the lives of 21st century hipsters with their hands-in-the-air, club rock anthems.
Not so much a group more a way of life, THE WHITE NEGROES believe that security is boredom and seek to encourage the psychopath in themselves in the belief that perception lies just beyond the next orgasm.
