Legendary Yes and Plastic Ono Band (John Lennon) drummer Alan White founder of the White Sox All-Stars, is a collective group of musicians comprised of rock superstars. The White Sox All-Stars provide performances for several charity events at music festivals such as: MusiCares (a charitable foundation of the Grammy organization, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences-NARAS), Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Susan G. Komen for the cure and Northwest Music Aid.

RALEIGH, N.C. (June 24, 2009) – Organizers of the 2nd Annual
Benefit Concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum slated for September 6, 2009 at the Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, N.C.
today announced the configuration of the White Sox All-Star band
and fans of British rock superstars Queen are sure to be excited.
This year’s version of the White Sox will include:
~Legendary Yes and Plastic Ono Band (John Lennon) drummer
Alan White;
~Queen keyboardist and vocalist Spike Edney;
~Fellow Queen and Mike and the Mechanics guitarist and backing
vocalist Jamie Moses;
~Former Journey lead singer and current Trans-Siberian Orchestra
vocalist Jeff Scott Soto;
~Superstar guitarist, “Apocalypse Now” soundtrack recording artist
and 1st Rock Tribute Act “Jimi Hendrix” founder Randy Hansen;
~World-renowned electric rock violinist Geoffrey Castle; and
~Progressive rock bass guitarist and White Sox co-founder

The superstar line-up is planning a 90-minute set of rock classics
that is sure to bring the house down, as last year’s version of the
White Sox did on the Opening Night of the two-day classic rock festival.
Other artists scheduled to perform include:
~2009 Rock Hall Inductee Darryl McDaniels, best known as D.M.C.
from the groundbreaking hip-hop group Run-D.M.C.;
~Legendary female rocker Patty Smyth and her 1980s hit making
band Scandal;
~Alternative rockers Blessid Union of Souls, whose hits include
“Hey Leonardo (She Likes Me for Me) and “I Believe;”
~Long Island, NY rockers Nine Days, whose breakout hits “Absolutely (Story of A Girl) and “If I Am” vaulted the band to stardom earlier this decade;
~Midwestern roots favorite the Freddy Jones Band, whose recently released CD “Time Well Wasted” has spawned numerous hits on college radio including the fast-rising singles “Home Thing” and “In a Daydream;”
~Two Southern rock standard bearers with nearly a dozen Top 40 hits between them -- the Atlanta Rhythm Section and the Georgia Satellites;
~94 East, the band widely credited with defining the “Minneapolis Sound,”
and whose eight member line-up for the Rock hall Benefit concert will
include some very special guests that will be announced in the coming
weeks.

ALAN WHITE
Alan White born in Pelton, County Durham, is an English rock and roll drummer best known for his 34 years of work with the progressive rock band Yes. In all, White has appeared on over fifty albums with artists from John Lennon and George Harrison to Joe Cocker, Ginger Baker and The Ventures.

On October 6, 2008, a Music Aid Northwest delegation, including Dave and Danille Turissini, Alan and Gigi White, Reek Havok, and Attorney Michael Nesteroff, traveled to the State Capitol in Olympia to meet with Lt. Governor Brad Owen. The board and Mr. Owen discussed the legislative process involved with the Music Matters custom license plate, which the Lt. Governor has offered his official endorsement.

Rockers, Suits and the KIDS, a benefit Jam for music education, Redmond, WA 2008 with legendary drummer Alan White (Yes, John Lennon, George Harrison) and the White Sox All-Stars including Randy Hansen (Randy Hansen Band), featuring former Presidential Candidate 2008 and bassist Mike Hukabee, Tracy Alan Moore, plus the White Soxettes background vocalists Aury Moore, Sally AnnaBella and Shelly Tomburg and a host of local musical talent raising awareness for the personalized music license plate project benefiting music education in Washington State public schools.
