Straight-up Colleen Napolitano, with guest appearances by...
Influences
Elliott Smith, Against Me!, Saves the Day, Magnetic Fields, Arcade Fire, Cursive, Sufjan Stevens, Copeland, Bomb the Music Industry!, Radiohead, Neutral Milk Hotel, and whatever else I fancy at the time of recording.
White Star City is continuing to exist! Hooray! These are all demoes yelled into the internal mic of my computer, so ignore their obvious flaws, such as the terrible interlude in An Honest Man and the gaps in My Father's Tally.
Coming up soon, in working title format: "Colleen Writes a NMH Song", "Erasers to Chalk", "Everything That Matters", and "Love Songs for Strangers". Possibilities include Ticket Punch and Xylophone Song.
For now, patience, peace, and thanks. Love ya'll. Enjoy!
it's an okay song. i have a real keyboard now, though, so the piano stuff will improve immensely. before, i was just using the keys on the laptop as a fake piano. DIDN'T WORK TOO WELL, i started thinking of the notes as "I, J, K and L" etc. not helpful!
colleen! you're voice is so damn amazing! it reminds me of amy whinehouse but more funky! your music is great and i can't wait for you to hit the real studio!
well, before you start complimenting me on my guitar playing, I should say that the demos I have up are guitar pro demos. When I write music, I tend to step it up a few steps so I have a challenge, I WROTE this music, and I'm learning to play it all. I can play most of it now. I'm gonna get up real guitar demos and shit once I get the proper recording equipment. haha. But thanks anyways! I've only been playing over a year now. I'm quite proud of what I've accomplished.
Colleeeeen! i like the new song, although this is probably my favorite part:*Special thanks to Barilla Pasta, Mike's Hard Lemonade, California Rice, Blue Diamond Almonds, and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese for providing the percussion section. * hahaha
