I am a huge fan of Classical Music which I realise is quite unusual for someone of my age. My favourite Composers would be Chopin, Beethoven, Shostakovich and Rachmaninov. Modern composers have my attention too. The Queen Symphony was fantastic, a spectacular display of rock and classical music married. Contemporary music I can handle, and as much as it surprises me to say this, since living in Central West NSW the last 5 years I have grown tolerant of Country Music.Movies
I love disaster films. I’m not a sadist or anything like that, they intrigue me. Last year I was thinking to myself could Australia pull of a disaster film, and would it be comparable to a US big blockbuster. Well low and behold, in the 1980’s Australia did produce a mini series called “Cyclone Tracy”. It was magnificent. A credit to our Country. Romantic comedies, and comedies in general I really enjoy, especially Australian comedies. They are so clever. Horror films still give me a kick too.Television
I am a huge fan of Australian and British comedies. From Australia, Kath & Kim, it’s so hilarious. Britain has produced some magical shows, The Vicar of Dibley, Absolutely Fabulous, My Family, Dad’s Army, Are You Being Served? And the all new Little Britain. From the United States, it would have to be Will and Grace. Ellen DeGeneres is very clever.Books
A good thriller or horror novel get's my blood pounding. Did read a good novel a little while back called "Grave Secrets". On a summer morning in 1982, soldiers enter a Guatemalan village and massacre its women and children. Terrified of meeting a similar fate, returning relatives quickly bury their dead in makeshift graves. Today these families refer to their lost members as “the disappeared,” and human rights teams are trying to find them. Dr. Temperance Brennan, international forensic anthropologist, has been asked to investigate one of the most heart-breaking cases of her career. I also love novels set in World War II, fiction or non-fiction.Heroes

The world's largest short film competition comes to Sydney! The Sydney segment of the internationally acclaimed 48 HOUR FILM PROJECT will be run from the Blue Mountains as a part of this year's Footbeat Festival. The weekend of 10-12 October promises to be a wild and sleepless weekend for the teams who are challenged to make a movie, to write, shoot and edit it in just 48 hours.
Filmmakers throughout NSW, including Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, Lithgow, Bathurst and the Blue Mountains are invited to compete in the world's oldest and largest timed-film competition. The 48HFP takes place annually in over 70 cities around the world competing to win the title of Best 48 Hour Film of 2008.
The 48HFP can help launch a filmmaking career. 'Myles West', last year's winner in Brisbane, went on to win a swag of awards at the international competition in America, competing against the winners from 50 other cities. It was then screened in the Short Film Corner at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. For more information please contact:
