Hiya all, welcome to the secret world of Whitrow Mansions...Here's the story, when I mixed and produced the Flylow album Bridges, the record label and band needed a name for the studio in the credits...Someone jokingly called the place "Whitrow Mansions" and it stuck! It sounded grandious, sumptous and mildly verging on the pretentious, so it's humourous qualities were noted!
So this myspace page is the secret back door from my proper producer page...I just make records and I love it that way! When I finish producing one of my artistes, then it's someone elses job to take it away and turn it into a proper Cd...Suits me fine, because that way, I can just get on with banging out the next project...Simple...Grace under pressure at all times...
If I were just an artist i'd maybe make one quality album in two years...
As I producer, I can just keep firing out Cd after Cd...I've loved the whole studio thing for years, incredible places where sacred magic and purest alchemy are made...So for those of you still following this stream of conciousness...
The artists on here are Myself on track one...Shut myself away for three days and returned with "Man Of The World", a classic bit of Peter Green that i've always thought was one of the most beautiful tracks ever...To cover it properly and with respect has been an honour and an ambition fulfilled...
Track two is Autopilot, one of those days when everything went perfect and the song went down like a dream...I produced an album for "Cosmic" the guitarist and Nicole used to do backing vocals for Savage Garden. A top girl with a top voice..."Possibly Beautiful" always resonates with the ladies...
Track three is my proudest young protoge Nicole Thomas, Nicole is currently tour managing Flylow whilst writing her first album...Go girl! "Reach Out" was a wonderful song we came out with in two days, over two recorded versions.
We really captured an essence of Nicole's soul in that one...A new reconstructed classical piano version will be on her debut album...
Track four is Faye Horton, Faye's got a stunning voice with such power, we banged out "In Your Hand" in a very productive afternoon's work. She only did two vocal takes, and that's both vocals that you hear on the track...
I just wanted to put these tracks out, with the minimum of fuss and let them fly around the planet of their own accord...Who know's who will hear them, i'd love to know...Consider this a chill out and put your feet up kind of Myspace...The real action happens over at www.myspace.com/paulwhitrow
