Nicolette is here Who's Nicolette? They're saying shes what is missing in the Hip Hop scene. Though young but sassy, positiveness and fun is what shes conveying with danceable, inspirational and just plan spitting and flowin on her tracks both the young and old are gravitating to her style.
Born and raised in Harlem, New York, Nicolette picked up a microphone at the age of 4 and has not put it down since. Belonging to a group called The Harlem Sunshine Girls, which instilled strong work ethics and promoted anti-drug, and pro-education messages, groomed her into the prodigy that she is today. As lead lyricist, they performed in countless open mic events, school functions and talent showcases such as The Apollo Theater, which they won three consecutive times. All the while receiving invitations to perform for and work with celebrities, politicians and recording artists, such as Mya, Anita Baker, and C. Virginia Fields. Shes dabbled with her second love, acting, and played the role of Little Kim on VH1 Driven. With such a busy schedule, she still continues to maintain an A average in school and play her favorite sport basketball. Nicolettes music was also played on WHCR City College Radio Station for an half hour.
Now at the age of 14 years old, her choice of wanting to become a professional solo artist is proving to be the right one. She received standing ovations for her performances throughout the Tri-State area in such places as Dillons Lounge, The National Black Theater of Harlem, The Rucker Park, and The Empire just to name a few. Is it her interactions with the crowd, delivery, innocence, versatile flow that differs from bar to bar that connects with the audience? She says, Its the emotional feeling that I get when the crowd is feeling me and wanting to reach out to touch my hand. It just makes me happier, hyper and more anxious to please them. Her CD Who Da 1? is heavily in request and her songs are listened to on myspace.com/whoda1 by fans all over the world.
Her phone has not stopped ringing with producers wanting her to rock on their tracks and other artists wanting to do collaborations.
Shes looking forward to that one most important phone call or meeting that offers her the opportunity of her dreams, a record deal. My supporters and I strongly believe that this is the time for Nicolette to be introduced to the world through club bookings, radio airplay, independent or major record label deal, publishing or licensing deal, record distribution, record reviews, promotional appearances, advertisement, video production, merchandising and gigs. Included in the press kit you will find a photo, CD, bio and copy of music video. I would appreciate it if you would listen to my CD and perhaps consider singing me. Ive independently recorded nineteen records, five freestyles, and five collaborations.
