This scheband was formed by Mike and Pete, two guitarists with a shared love of off-kilter pop songs and backdrops of vocal harmonies. Following lo-fi beginnings in noisy London pubs expansion soon beckoned... three more hearty singers and all-round musical folk (Dayo, Laura and Stu) joined the band so the songs could wander wherever they needed to.
We enjoy using a range of accompanying sounds, from flugelhorn and banjo to the delicate wheezing of a midget accordion. On record we've called on the wider schebang family and squeezed in a string section, a cornet and a synthesizer too - just to make sure we live up to our name. As a five-piece we're currently playing live as much as possible. If you like rousing acappela singing, harmonies and fresh lyrical flourishes then we might just be a band for you...

some reviews:
"it’s a mini-epic… a tasty bitesize piece of whole schebang which might prove to whet your appetite for more. 87%"
The Line of Best Fit (29/1/09)
(Demo of the Week) "Really colourful, infectious songs... alternative indie/folk goodness that’s alive and wandering wherever they want to. Rousing reeling stuff."
The Organ (issue 291 - 22/1/09)
"(schebang's) tracks show real flair and a winning, winsome charm; ‘Hollow Feeling’ has a dark post-rock-meets-Gypsy-folk feel and puts me in mind of the very fine Fireworks Night while the Belle & Sebastian indiepop-doowop feel of ‘Singing In The Rain’ is a sugar-rush of harmonic goodness."
Sounds XP (22/2/09)
"charming vocal harmonies... embracing inventiveness... I'm smitten."
