SEDGEWICK AND CEDAR After being raised in my hip-hop bubble through out my earlier years, my first glimpse of the business aspect of the entertainment industry presented itself when I first met Mike Elliot from Krush Rap in my high school years. After studying his avenue and his contribution to the game, I knew this path that was necessary.
My college years as a DJ on WRRC led to my employment at PolyGram Records where I worked as an assistant A&R at Island records to switching to distribution through I.L.S (PolyGram indy distribution company) to leaving and creating Danger Zone Records with a few of my peeps.
From there, my creativity with my songwriting and productions skills resulted in me moving out to Los Angeles to work with numerous artists from the La'Face camp and other artists from major labels. After returning to the northeast, I moved to Hoboken, NJ where I collabed with some of the industrys top writers and producers. After realizing the systematic evolution of hip-hop has created a loss in originality, concepts, and substance, I was faced with the dilemma to either change fields or continue with an art that has become stagnant and that lost its will to evolve.
That's when the concept of WHO?MAG was born. There are thousands of undiscovered artists that are in need of the certain break that commercial radio wont give them because they are not rhyming about rims, grills, or guns, so I created a third party media outlet where we can help expose these artist through other avenues including our "Get Recognized" contest, www.whomag.net, and our worldwide DVD magazine. With the support of these artists, producers, graf artists, breakers, designers, deejays, indy labels, and fans, together we can bring back hip-hop to its original essence.
