So why "Who's your mama NOW"?...in a time when bands seem to have conformed to names in "The Whatevers" format, our name surely stands out.
But what's the story behind it?
Well, I've been in a few bands - playing different styles of music, with variable success. However there's always been one thing in common : people kept asking me : "So, who's your man in the band?"
They kinda accepted that a girl cannot stand her own ground and HAS to be someone's girlfriend to be a part of a successful band...
I am by no means a die-hard feminist, but I believe music has no colour or sex : the only thing that counts is a musician's ability and hard work:)
Of course, our name has a lot to do with our music : it's soulful, funky and has lots of attitude :)

The best thing about Who's your mama NOW? is that we absolutely enjoy playing together! We are a 5 piece Edinburgh band, playing both covers and original material, influenced by blues, funk, jazz and soul (amongst other things).
The band's ideal is to blend music from various cultures to put a new slant on the established musical traditions. "Your Mama" believes that this brings people together and allows people to appreciate, through music, how diverse our world is.
The band was originally formed in April 2008 .
The band mostly plays in Edinburgh, Scotland, but also likes to tour.
In 2008 "Your Mama" performed at the Fringe in Edinburgh, on the blues trail during the Maryport Blues festival(Jul 2008), represented the UK at the Balkan Youth Festival in Bulgaria(Sept2008), and triumphantly finished the year with a Christmas and New Year tour of Portugal(Dec2008-Jan2009).

I always smile nicely when I see this logo and the name of your band. It is unique, different, eye catching and memorable. I hope you will be a major success. Remember that you have to keep me posted, and when you are mega rich and mega famous, do not forget the little old lady who encouraged you from the very earliest of days and kept encouraging you because she believes so very much in you and your abilities, your talent and your determination. You asked why do I feel betrayed. Aaah my dear, it is a very long story which I will talk with you about via e'mail, or via text message or telephone. But when you put your trust and your faith in a person--whether family or friend and they betray your trust in every way, then all you are left with is your dignity and your good name if you can hold things together. But we all have our day, and what one does to another will be repaid in full. God does not fall asleep. Do you think he is overworked? Perhaps, that is why people get away with virtual murder.
