As they came up to Santa, a long line of moms & other kids were waiting for him. They were all telling each other what they the wanted. Joe heard some kids asking for video games, footballs, bikes, and action figures. The girls wanted dolls, tea sets, teddy bears and many, many other things, but Joe didn’t have his heart set on any of this. He just wanted to know, Why Christmas?
Just as he saw Santa, Santa saw him. Santa pointed his finger at Joe & said, “Come down here Joe. I have come here & let you see me just so I can give you your big present. I am going to answer that question that has been bothering you, but you need to just do one thing, ask me it first, and you didn’t. So come over here & ask it.” So Joe went down to Santa, who had taken a seat on dad’s big Laz-y-boy, and Joe next to him.
Joe then, with some nervousness, asked his question. “Why Christmas?”
“So”, Joe said, “that’s why we have Baby Jesus, shepp—ppp---Shepar—r—rds, kings, and trees, and even presents…but Santa, what about you?“
Who I'd like to meet: Artist And/or Illustrators...my first choice decided he couldn't commit to it & keep doing his day job too...oh well:-}
