"Why I Must Be Careful is an experience, not a show. Although your ears might be ringing, your head will be clear. WIMBC gives a perf that is absolutely; so; watertight in reaction to the chaos the band observes around them. The terrific control is killing: their mathematical precision cuts like a razor blade through the otherwise black prog. It’s like Lewis Carroll splintering within from the points of numbers until he writes absurdity that profounds academics. This experimental is the gold of Niekrasz’ and Brown’s existentialist quest for the transcendent. "

"Expect to be jarred in a decidedly unrock, but totally enrapturing and palate-cleansing way."
–Josh Vanek (Wäntage USA)
Experimental crazy jazz, stripped down and built back up. Drummer ]ohn Niekrasz plays with a feather in his tom. 5eth Brown plays his Rhodes with his elbows. I hate to name drop, but when Chuck Hoffard (drums, White Fang) and I stepped out to have a smoke he looked at me and said, “That was fucking purity.” - Willamette Week
"...our plans to call it a night were derailed by the incredible performance from a duo by the name of Why I Must be Careful (www.myspace.com/whyimustbecareful). It was a completely enthralling experience, led by a distorted Rhode’s 88 key (which was making noises I did not know electric pianos could make), jazz-esque drums and strange, arty, poetic vocal ejaculations. It was rather awe inspiring really."

that hellsing jctn show was so great! i was smiling for probably 20 minutes afterward, even though my butt crack had lots of dirt in it and my eyes were sore from (barely) sleeping under a tree.
