I learned how to make stained glass windows over four years ago at the Kittrell Riffkind Art Glass studio in Dallas, Texas, under Dave Kittrell and Michael Riffkind. I have been working there now for about four years now and love the fact that I make and repair stained glass for a living since I'm not the corporate type. I also started making glass beads about a year and a half ago, and have taken many, many classes from Donna Merrill, a bead artist who teaches in the studio and shows in the gallery there. I quickly found that I was completely addicted to it, and often say that it is less pressure to make a good bead than a good window...if you mess up a bead, it becomes frit...if you mess up a window...YOU ARE SCREWED!!! I also crochet and knit a little. I do not consider myself to be an artist but I will say that I HAVE to be creative or I feel like I'm crawling in my skin, which makes me hard to live with.
