The Byrds on steroids? Their words, not mine. Apt description, though. New Jersey's The Grip Weeds play psychedelic rock the way it should be: Simple songs, great vocal harmonies, 12 string Rickenbackers, some of the coolest drumming around, but a female lead guitarist who sounds like her parents sent her to early '70s rock shows instead of school. The songs are dense psychedelic rock with supercharged powerchords. It's unimaginable that so much could be fit into small, basic three to four minute songs! The Grip Weeds have set a new standard for psychedelic guitar pop. Go Here to read the review for Infinite Soul: The Best of The Grip Weeds. There's a damn cool video, too!
