About me:

I'm a 35 year old Librarian. I love books. I also get just a tad bit obsessive over the things I like. Right now, I like Tim Minchin. A lot. ^_^

If I had just one message for everyone to see, it would be this. READ. Educate yourself. There is a world outside your door, your town, your country. There are billions of people who believe different things than you do, and who live different lives, and who are no more right or wrong than you are. Our world has a history, and we should respect each other enough to learn about it. Don't believe something someone tells you just because it's easier than finding out the truth for yourself. Don't let religion be your crutch or your excuse for not knowing your own truth. And if you're going to claim to any religion, at least know your religion, its history, and where it came from; the politics that formed it and the lies it is founded upon. Open your eyes, read, learn. Disagreement and questioning are good things, it means you're thinking.

THINK.

"50% of Americans believe in Creationism. Something like 40% believe that life on Earth began because God willed it. Leaving a very small percentage of Americans who are right."

"They say - 'Evolution is just a theory!' Let's just hope they apply the same skepticism to the theory of gravity and float the fuck away."

-- (paraphrasing Tim Minchin)

Who I'd like to meet:

People who are educated, well-traveled and well-informed.

    Yes!

We'll have non-stop entertainment and conversations that don't make sense :)

    Hey Liza,

Finally get to watch my new DVD... The ironing bit had me in a fit of giggles. I love having those conversations which don't make much sense. I also liked the bit where he was waving at the camera during the photo shoot with his perrier award.

I hope the weather has improved and that Bill is less anxious.

On the up-side though when he stops being the Doctor maybe we could ...borrow... him for a bit.

Not soon enough! But then again it won't be long until there's a new Doc. I'm not sure how I'll deal with the loss of DT. I'd like to think he'll go off and play Jack Parlabane in screen adaptations of Christopher Brookemyers novels... but realistically I'm not sure you could make screen adaptations of those books. They are wonderfully sick. Maybe DT will narrate a few more of them at least...

    Thanks :)

I am enjoying the holiday but it's going to be nice getting back to London. I leave Perth on Saturday and get back to the UK on Sunday morning.

I got my R&RN DVD today...

Hope you and Bill are well x

A framed certificate of achievement too perhaps...

I am already getting sooo excited about September! I need The Doctor to keep me occupied from now until then.

My weekend *has* featured a lot of Dr Who. Whoever invented DVD box sets was a GENIUS!

Then I prescribe a large bar of chocolate and a Dr Who DVD - there is nothing that combination can't deal with.

You could try some willow bark extract to get rid of your headache. Or failing that healing crystals maybe?

I'm not. I'm on Tim's more than I'm on this one...

I'm assuming this is now your everyday attire.

It takes me back to when I was six and in the school play everyone in my class had to dress up as bears... and a boy called Matthew, all dressed up in his bear outfit, sat down on the edge of stage and then fell off it.

The bear outfit is quite spectacular. It made me laugh out loud whilst on the train to work when I saw it.
