History of "The Most Dangerous Vampire Story Ever Told"
It started in Berlin, the night of Germany's unification. While wandering around northern Europe in a search of a new record contract and a new life, something extraordinary happened. I was struck by the type of inspiration an artist dreams about - like being struck by lightning; the characters, the story, and the songs, all in one blinding moment. It took me weeks to write down a simple outline for all of it.
My plan was to write a book and record a music version of the story with my new band back in Ohio. After months of hard work, the concept recordings came together perfectly, but the book had gone cold. The endeavor stopped at just over thirty typed pages. Completing the entire story was held up by the following; my first marriage and divorce, my first solo music project, undergrad and graduate studies at the University of Toledo, running off to Stockholm for six months (again), a three-year stint in the army, followed by another music project, another marriage, the birth of my first child, another divorce, a change in careers, and a move across the country - in other words, lifetimes.
During the summer of 2002, I read the entire published works of the Marquis de Sade and the Sleeping Beauty trilogy by Ann Rice while two friends and I started playing a game over the internet which we called Passing the Rose. This game entailed writing an erotic paragraph, ending it with a rose icon, and emailing the entire text onto the next person to add another paragraph. After we had accumulated about five pages my two friends got caught up in their lives and were unable to continue. I decided to keep the story going and eventually blended it with the material I wrote in Germany.
None of the original coauthored writings remain in the rewritten edition for the sake of the story's continuity. I relished that point in my life. It was an awakening and I am grateful for the inspirations provided by both women. The colored chokers were born out my imagination during that time and still remain a prominent motif in the story. The vampire theme followed shortly thereafter and the book became an obsession of my very own.
A constant state of anger and unrest was the primary reason for the story's appalling nature. I contended that I would write from the absolute worst of my imagination and ignored any criticism concerning the story’s redundant debauchery and numerous technical deficiencies. I couldn’t even claim it with my own name. The reason for the pseudonym resides mostly in my "daytime" occupation at that time.
The Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS) was nearing the end of a massive hiring campaign and, on February 2, 2003, I was hired on and disappeared for eleven weeks of training. The FAMS, my child, and a new music project called Fetish Doll were taking every second of my time. The story was shelved once again.
During my first year with the FAMS, the Special Agent-in-Charge (SAC) of the Detroit Field Office got wind of my band’s website and was quite repulsed by it, especially after he downloaded The Worm music video from the motion picture Hell Asylum, the final scene featuring my demonically enhanced face drenched in blood.
Mind you, I had taken great pains to keep those two sides of my life completely separate. Within the music world, no one had any idea how I made my living, and it wasn't until some rat (who apparently had no life of his own) decided to drop on dime on me.
What followed was an unbelievable pressuring from the SAC to either quit the band or lose my job. This went on throughout the summer before I finally sat down with my attorney, Jim Roosa, to discuss the matter of a hostile work environment, and potential religious discrimination (a separate but very real problem as well). He suggested getting fired wasn’t a bad idea as I would have a solid "smoking-gun" case against the government. My reservation was that I would not be able to support my family for the time it would take to fight with them in court. I simply wanted to be left alone to pursue my creative interests. The SAC learned of my attorney's counsel and decided it was best to leave me and my civil rights alone. Checkmate.
That was an awful time for me; dealing with sleepless nights, constant harassment, and never-ending worry about having my principles pitted against the consequences of not being able to provide for my family. This is the point where I came up with the pseudonym for the first edition. I decided to make her a strong attractive woman and had a friend pose on my chopper for the back cover. It was a gimmick and it worked out great. My good friend Kelly created a MySpace page, answered emails, and basically put everything together. There was no option for me to take credit. Had the SAC found out I wrote this book, I would have had ten times the battle on my hands.
As I got closer to the book’s release I starting thinking about the fragmented feel of the story and the overkill of sadistic scenes and redundant pornography. It needed more work and serious editing, but I was impatient and wanted it released immediately. It was received well by the following of freaks built up on MySpace, yet I was reluctant to support it because I saw it as a train wreck. When the book was released in November of 2007, I made no attempt to promote it at all.
Rather than give up, I decided to take a step back, read the story again, and revise it myself. I was asked several times if my intention was to create a watered-down version of the story. The short answer is no. I simply wanted a deeper insight into the characters and a better telling of the story, a version I could live with.
These unique characters and the original mythology behind this story were born of my own life-experiences, and the darker side of my imagination. For those of you who read the first work, you will not be disappointed. Perhaps now I can begin to write a sequel.
I suggest you pour yourself a glass of wine, light some candles, get cozy, and enjoy a tale you will not soon forget.
The beauty of my vampires is their mythology. They are unique and original in so many ways. Of course a flavor of the old stays with them, as they are vampires after all. But they are like no vampires you’ve ever met. They will leave you breathless, horny, and horrified.
This is an awesome book in every way. I have read many horror novels but this is by far the best one I have ever read. It really takes us to another level of vampirism in fiction and the genre itself. all the characters are excellent, Lady Megan being my favorite and you really feel that you are part of the coven and the eroticism/sadism/tortures are excellently written. Congratulations on this book.
~ 5 stars ~ Must read, May 12, 2009
Just bought this book and loved it. Though it is not for the faint of heart there is sex, violence, bondage, and orgies the book was HOT! I hope to see more of the Coven in the future and maybe a book about Celsus sister who shows up at one point with her own slaves. Like I said if you are into this type of reading you must get this book.
~ 5 stars ~ I want to be part of this coven ~, September 12, 2008
WOW! I loved this book, for many reasons. I enjoy books where in your mind you can see exactly what the author is describing. This is that kind of book, from the description of the Coven to the streets in Rome. The Coven is very intriguing, sexy, and quite evil. Beautiful Elizabeth, Nona, Heather, and the wicked Master are characters you'll not soon forget. Celsus has a strange way of showing his love, but he does love his family. They kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more and I could not put it down. This is so different from your typical vampire story. The creativity is amazing and I hope it follows up with another. I would love to know more about the relationship, the bond, and the connection that Nona and the Master have.
~ 5 stars ~ Erotica at it's best!, March 18, 2008
This goes beyond what other authors do in any Vampire book I've ever read. Bold and sexy. She took us to another level of the day in a life of a coven. I found it very erotic and dark at the same time. There is nothing held back and leaves me longing for more. Next?
~ 5 stars ~ Coven of Celsus Elizabeth, March 13, 2008
A new and fresh approach to the Vampire story. Having read and owning a large collection of Vampire fiction, it was refreshing to come across a new twist that had not been touched on.
A story about a young college girl that meets a mysterious stranger in a cafe, after this encounter ,has an affair with another member of the coven who slowly draws her in to the coven. She begins to feel that her life is not as simple as she thought.Through on going contact with the coven it is revealed to her that she has had many lifes over the centuries. Her memories of this past life is brought forth by a series of Erotic and painful encounters with members of the coven, until she finally takes her rightful place inside the coven.
The story is very erotic but not explicit or tasteless. The subject matter is handed brillantly by the author.
Tracing the story back to Ancient Babylonia , a curse and the beleif in the old dieties was very interesting.
Overall I found it a very interesting and thought provoking read. Very enjoyable! I look forward to the next installment to see where the author takes Elizabeth and the rest of the Coven.
If you are into the vampire theme I highly recommended it.

This was an AMAZING darkly erotic novel! Not for the faint of heart though. Wildly graphic yet deeply arousing. I loved this book!!!!!!
~ 5 stars ~ A Most Naughty Read, February 20, 2008
Coven of Celsus Elizabeth, is a sexual/sensual/erotic and at times disturbing journey into the dark elusive world of love, sadism and vampires. The thought of sadistically erotic acts of hedonism is one I'm sure everyone has experienced....if they say the haven't they're like people who say the never masturbate.....LIARS!
This describes such acts in a bold, highly intense, raw form. From the intense seduction of Elizabeth by Linzie, horrific yet interestingly erotic acts of torture, bondage and sexual pleasure to the obscenely grotesque execution of Father O'Mallin.
The courage that displays in writing this book is to be commended, for she fears not the judgment of others. Her wildest, kinkiest, erotic, disturbing, appalling and sadistic thoughts are a morbid curiosity that kept me wanting, craving and needing more.
This is a must read only a truly wild FREAK by choice can appreciate.
Bravo.....looking forward to your next book!

~ 5 stars ~ A must read. A soon to be classic! Ok Vampire classic : ), January 22, 2008
Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down! I was staying up late trying to find out what was going to happen next. This book brilliantly incorporates eroticism, sadism, the supernatural and vampires in a way that you have never seen before. The depth of the characters transcend our spoon fed notions of one-dimensional blood sucking killer vampires of horror flicks or blonde idiots that sleep with the main character then fall down in the forest when being chased. This book is not for the faint of heart, but for those who have the stamina and fortitude this story will have you rocking.
I hope that there is another book in the works...I can't wait!
~ 1 star ~ Disgusting, January 15, 2008
Disgusting is too mild a word for this book. The mingling of eroticism with torture, murder and dismemberment is way over the top. What makes it particularly awful is its satanic aspects. I read the first part of it and, when the killing started, then read pieces of the rest. I actually put this book in the trash (something I have only done one other time in my entire life). Eroticism, including S&M would have been OK, but actual torture murder in a satanic setting is too risky to have in the house. Who knows what gate it could open. I regret that I sullied my mind and soul to the extent that I did with this trash.
Thank you so much, seriously! This comment must have sold at least 200 books! Awesome!

Reading this book is like playing bridge...you either need a good partner or a good hand!
~ 5 stars ~ After page one you will never look at the world in the same way., December 10, 2007
I have been a huge fan of Anne Rice but after reading the Coven of Celsus, I find myself wondering why. I, like so many others, have grown up and need a more adult vampire story. Shauna Tully has taken vampires into the new century. It is the first time I have found myself taken into a world of sadism, sex, and the supernatural.
You will fall in love with Elizabeth, I did.
A "BLODDY" excellent book and I only have one bad thing to say about the author. And that is she only has one book published. You can't resist the temptation so buy it already.
~ 5 stars ~ NEW SPIN ON THE VAMPIRE MYTHOS, November 30, 2007
If you're tired of those mind numbing, run of the mill vampire and horror stories, this is one you should check out. It takes a genre that has in past years become stale and boring and, pardon the pun, injects some new "blood" into it. I would personally review it as a very sensual/sexual journey through the dark world of vampires, but it also recreates some the myths and legends we've all seen before. Enter the "Coven of Celsus" if you dare.
Who I'd like to meet: All fans of vampires, werewolves, bondage, discipline, lovers of erotica, bi-sexual women, libertines, libertarians, and major freaks! I adore you and my book was written for you!
