Influences
Australia's zaniest entertainers are back by popular demand.
Following the whirlwind Queensland tour of twenty eight performances last year, it seems Australian audiences still consider Wickety Wak one of the most popular show bands of all time and have demanded more from these hilarious characters. With these five talented musicians, Greg, Tony, Pahnie, Peter and Robbie performing their usual array of impersonations and skits, demand for this show is sure to be high, so purchase early to avoid disappointment.

'Love Me, Love MY Dog' was the Wak's first album and was released in 1980 as a direct result of the band's appearance on Jacki MacDonald's TV Show. It was produced by the ubiquitous John Stainton and only 6000 copies were pressed.
The next album, 'New Horizons', was released in January 1983 through EMI and recorded by Gary McDonald and Laurie Stone at Starsound Studios. Original material was written by Craig Donaldson and Tim Schumacher, of Denver, Colorado. Their Los Angeles publisher, Dan Friedman, assigned the songs to Wickety Wak during the 1981 Music Expo in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The album peaked at No 4 in the charts and remained in the listings for 19 weeks; the single from the album, 'Moonlight Marvel' achieved No 12. The album was released in the USSR, Canada and Norway.
'Second Helpings' was arranged and recorded by Geoff Wilkes and released in 1985. Two tracks were re-recorded as dance mixes and released in Canada – with Wickety Wak named as Hott Waxx. But the project came to an untimely end with the sudden death of record company executive Paul Clinch.
Geoff Wilkes was called on again to record the Wak's fourth album, 'Wak About Australia', which was released in 1988 through CBS. With more than 20,000 copies sold, this was the Wak's most successful record. It was also made into a TV special by the Seven Network.
The Wak's TV specials on Channel 7 were the highest raters in their field in the stations history. Their TV history began with appearances on Jacki MacDonald’s breakfast show. Then came Waks works 1,2 and 3. Wak About Australia hit the screens in 1987 which then resulted in the album of the same name being released. There have been many live TV shows including Wak Live at the Gold Coast '87, Live at Boondall 1990 (the final show....maybe) then the Wickety Wak Reunion 1997 Special. -***Posted by John Power 2007
After almost sixteen years Wickety Wak, Australia's favourite show-stopping band of the eighties, have been lured out of retirement, for two crazy, fun filled tours annually, with their brand new "Waks Up Your Wrinkles Tour' kicking off at the Toyota National Country Music Muster in August 07.
In early 2006 the invitation to help celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Toyota National Country Music Muster was just too appealing to say no. So the 'Lock Up Your Grandmothers Tour' was born. The whirlwind, five week tour, took Wickety Wak from Cairns to Lismore performing an amazing 30 whows in just 34 days. (not bad for a bunch of old fellas!). With most shows sold out weeks in advance the dedication and loyalty of Wickety Wak fans was truly evident and they were not disappointed. The band's unique show combines serious melodies with hilarious parodies of some of the world's most noted musicians including The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley and Dolly Parton.
