Blending the classic Swedish death metal sound of fast melodic guitars, technical drumming and vicious vocals, together with a brutal modern death metal approach, Widow The Sea continue to break away from saturated formulas of generic clichés seen in recent years. Featuring present and past members of international touring bands The Berzerker, Excrutiate and City In Panic, Widow The Sea show no signs of slowing their rapid rise to the ranks of their international counterparts. The release of the debut EP 'Novella Of The Ocean' became one of 2010's most intense and aggressive heavy releases and has reached another level in Australian extreme music. Recorded at Complex Studios by Roman Koester of The Red Shore / Boris The Blade and mastered by Swedish producer Goran Finnberg (At The Gates, Darkest Hour, The Haunted) Widow The Sea are continuing their onslaught of crushing, modern death metal. The 2010 filmclip to 'The Nameless City' only adding more fuel to this already raging fire. With a full length album well underway, 2012 will see this band unleash a monster onto the world stage. With a full Australian tour in 2011 with legendary international death metal band Devolved and a host of international supports including: The Black Dahlia Murder, Unearth, Darkest Hour, Deez Nuts, Carnifex and countless sold out headline shows, this band is on a mission. Widow The Sea are proving themselves as one of Australia's most intense and ferocious bands we have seen with a live show that can only be described as a steam roller smashing your face at 200km/hr over and over again. The future is bright for Widow The Sea, with more national tours on the horizon and plans to take their sound to the global stage.
