I am a man who try to stay warm even if I live in the cold north - Sweden. All day long I collect fuel for my soul to stay warm and strong. Trivia: The glam rock group "The Sweet" had a concert in my little hometown Nynashamn before they got famous around the world. They performed in "Folkets Hus" (The peoples house). The place where I used to go after Christmas as a child to "threw out the christmastree" (Julgransplundring"), a Swedish tradition. In the year of 1982 it was time for "The Message" - with Grandmaster Flash (Joseph Saddler)& The Furious Five. I was listen to that song day and night and it was really something new in my part of the world. And so came the Canadian group SAGA into my life. An everlasting loveaffair started...and is still going on. When Michael Sadler and Steve Negus played a historic drumsolo in Stockholm my heart was lost for ever. Even worse: my "only friend" (as he call himself and sometimes I think he's right) Pekka Hjelm, was also infected by "Don't Be Late (Chapter Two)". And it didn't get any better when "Social Orphan" (from "Heads or Tales") was released in 1983. And when Jim Crichton decided to play with two bassguitars at the same time (one ordinary and one on the floor) there where no escape at all. But the hero of SAGA is of course: Ian Crichton. But let's jump back a couple of years to 1980. I was in England (Oxford) when Bob Marley had his concert in Stockholm. You could say that I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and one year later he died so I never had the chance to see him play live. Black Uhuru (who are still touring) never succeded to fill out the empty space after the Reggae king. In 1977-79 I was on top of my career as a Skateboarder. I was the chairman of "Nynas Skateboard Team" and we were the cool dudes of my hometown. (At least we thought so...)I still have one of my skateboards left from that period. It's in the basement and when I had my 40th birthday I tried to ride it. You surely understand what happened...my back. To be continued...
