Welcome to my space! My name is WiJzZ, a mix of various nick names I've had for a while, given by friends and myself. This one has stayed, a bit mysterious, literally unpronounceable, slightly confusing. Just imagine something that swiflty passes by.
This space is open to the english-speaking community as it is complementary to my french www.awalkinthemoods.com blog (albeit the url is in english, confusing I know, that's how it came, that's how I am ^^). And it made sense as all the lyrics are in English.
I've been into music for quite long now. At 30, I guess I can say music has been part of my life since I was 8, when I took piano lessons to move on to church organ for a few years. And then I started laying my hands on eletronic equipment. It started with Roland's first Groovebox.
Then I discovered Music, piece of neat 24-track editing software running on PS1 with which I spent days and nights scoring 30 to 40 electronica pieces over 2 years. That was when I wanted to become a sound engineer, so I took the appropriate training after which I started being a "roadie" around Paris. But that didn't last long before I found my current job but that's another story.
Passion for music kept growing. My 3-year life with a singer opened new doors : back to the basics of playing the keyboards, start using Protools, buying expanders, microphones, explore other styles than what I had done until then, playing in bands, rehearsing in studios. And then she left for a guitarist.
Yeah well, I got over this. Since she had left me with 5 original tracks I composed and on which she layed her voice, that was the beginning of a curing process for which music was the best remedy. And I started singing, continued composing, in my own style, bought some more hardware, a talkbox (a long-lived dream). I put all my heart in music. It soothes the mind-twisting aches. It makes me live again.
And that's what I've been doing for 3 years now as a precious hobby. I've never been sure of what I wanted to do with music besides keeping it for the very limited audience of my own two ears and sometimes relatives'. The fact of extending the range to the web came from my sister's wedding in September 2006, for which I did a video with an original soundtrack I did specifically for the occasion and for which I had genuine encouragement. Well, that's where I am now. I hope you'll enjoy. Thanks for stopping by and listening.
