MUSIC: Music was my first true love and has been ever since. I am fortunate enough to sing lead vocals for an AMAZING rock band called ~**SPELL*~~. I joined this band over a year ago and these guys are INSANELY talented...it's touched my life like never before and I couldn't be happier. We play locally and have a ball together....... :) I used to belong to a band called Thicker Than Water with my ex husband and my brother but that ship has sailed. We still had fun...we still HAVE fun as friends, and I'll remember it always.
PARANORMAL RESEARCH AND INVESTIGATION: This is definitely a long-time passion. President and Founder of the Oklahoma Society for Ghost Research (OSGR); Psychic Investigator/Public Relations/Vice President for the Southwest Oklahoma Ghost Chasers (SWOGC).
COFFEE!!!: (you don't even know the extent of this addiction....I seriously need 12 steps and a nametag) My favorite drink usually contains chocolate and 4 or 5 shots of espresso...no wonder the ex calls it "mochaine".
MY SPIRITUALITY: It is constantly evolving and changing. I'm learning, seeing and experiencing more with every day. Organized religion seriously frightens me.... What lessons are they teaching, anyway? How to be judgmental and irrational to those who are different? Hmmm.... Remember kids...Minds are like parachutes...they only function when they're open.
MY PETS: Lilith, Lexi, and Jilli (or Jilli-Bean). At one point I had 13 dogs, but there were simply too many for me to take care of alone. Luckily, I was able to find loving, permanent homes for all of them and they're loved and taken care of.
Most importantly: MY FAMILY: My daughter Calyn, funny, fearless, beautiful, sweet, smart and inspiring...my biggest blessing. My (step)daughter Kimberly ...I didn't give birth to her, but she's mine. She's beautiful, insightful and absolutely brilliant. My (step)son Kevin, serving our country in the Navy...I'm remarkably proud of and scared for him. My parents, Jerry and Gayle....the two most spectacular people I know and the people who allowed me to be my own person. My brother, Quinn....neighbor, my friend, one of my heroes for as long as I can remember and an amazing, talented musician and an awesome Dad. Paige, his lovely wife and my friend. Jake, my nephew, ME in younger, male form and hardest working teenager you'll ever meet. And then there's Taylor...my niece...musical phenom and all around dynamo.
Last but not least, my friends, brothers and bandmates, the boys from SPELL - Wil, JD, Chris, Phillip and Carl (soundguy extraordinaire).....this is something beautiful, boys.....I love you all, think of you as family, and can't WAIT to continue kicking serious, SERIOUS ass!! I feel privileged, honored and blessed to even know you, much less sing for you. Namaste!
These people are the reason my heart beats and the reason my feet hit the floor every morning. :)
Music
October Project; SPELL (Spell, yeah!!); Zakk Wylde; The Darkness; Sheryl Crow; Boston; Queensryche; Roison Murphy; Imogen Heap; Pantera; Alanis Morrisette; Kaki King; Sarah McLachlan; The Eagles; Ani DiFranco; Dada; Tori Amos; Alice In Chains; The Wildhearts (one of the most underappreciated bands in the industry!); The Used (thanks to my daughter); Thicker Than Water, Black Label Society; Soil; Godsmack; Nashville Pussy; Murderdolls; NIN; Skid Row; Motley Crue; Faster Pussycat; Clannad; Marilyn Manson (he's an awesome showman...) and who made Marilyn who he is? Mr. Alice Cooper....just to name a few. The list goes on and on. And for the record, I'm a HUGE 80's metalhead girl.....the 80's had THE BEST music....what I wouldn't give to have been a part of the L.A. music scene at the time....From Metal to Classical, from Techno to Pop, from Emo to "put a bullet in my head" Country....ANYthing with heart. ANYthing that moves me, regardless of genre, artist, etc. I refuse to put music in a box....It's just got to move me. REAL music lovers respect all forms of music and the musicians who create it.....
Movies
Interview With The Vampire; Shawshank Redemption; Penny Dreadful; Unrest; The Hamiltons; Dark Ride; Gravedancers; Reincarnation; Old Boy; Wicked Little Things; The Abandoned; Seven; Texas Chainsaw Massacre; Night of the Living Dead (and all the zombie goodness that followed); A Clockwork Orange; Lost Boys; To Kill A Mockingbird; The Birdcage; The Amityville Horror (both old and new); The Lost Boys; Silence of the Lambs; The Omen; The Exorcist; Fight Club; The Blair Witch Project (the second one, Book of Shadows, wasn't great, but it had some cool effects); Stir of Echoes; Gothika; Army of Darkness; Evil Dead 1 & 2 (All Hail Bruce Campbell!); THE CROW; Braveheart; Reservoir Dogs; From Dusk Til Dawn; Ringu (Jap Horror); The Ring 1 & 2 (they didn't suck); The Fisher King; Pulp Fiction; RENT; Tombstone; Poltergeist; The Changling; Hook; Kill Bill; Blade I, II and Trinity; Big Trouble In Little China; The Sixth Sense; Bunshinsaba (Jap Horror); Audition (Jap Horror); Ju-On (Jap Horror) the original Halloween; Rocky Horror Picture Show ..; The Entity, geez...the list, again, goes on and on. I will say, however, that I freaking LOVE horror films!! The more gory, the scarier, the more disturbing, the better. They're my favorite.
Television
I watch VERY little television, but when I do, it's usually going to be The Discovery Channel; The Learning Channel; The History Channel; The Travel Channel (Haunted Travels)...those are all great. I despise reality t.v. There's nothing realistic about it. I was a huge Buffy fan when it was on....yanno, before they took it off the air and disappointed all their fans....
Books
Yanno...I really dig the Harry Potter series......I also loved the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice and the Mayfair Witch series by Anne Rice as well. I'm a big fan of Stephen King (his earlier work) and Dean Koontz. I love horror and the occasional biography too. Again...there are too many to mention here.
Geez......my parents first and foremost, my daughter, Calyn, my brother Quinn, Wil Jones, JD Famoly, Chris Bracket, Phillip Calvillo, Mary Fahl, Ani DiFranco, Zakk Wylde, Chad Patterson (fellow ghostbuster and CSGR president and founder), Dede Miller (activist and anti-war advocate...and dear friend), Anne Rice, Ghandi....there are so many.

HEY! How are you doing? Its been awhile since I've spent much time on the site. Time to do some catching up with everyone. Summer was pretty hectic. I'm in the middle of recording. Hopefully we get it mostly done by mid January. In the meantime I just put up a jam track called 2009. Have a listen! Drop us a message/comment sometime. Take Care, Nikko

DROPPING BY TO SAY THANX FOR BEING A FRIEND OF CRISS KARVER AND THE LUNACY MACHINE. ALSO, WANTED TO WISH YOU A FABULOUS DARK AND TWISTED WEEK!!!
HERE IS A PREVIEW FOR THE UPCOMING STORY 'OUIJA' WHICH IS ONE OF MANY TWISTED RHYMES INSIDE THE NEW LUNACY MACHINE.
OUIJA
Is there someone there? Is there someone there? Come talk to us tonight. We’re asking for the dead to speak, It’s only us . . .my wife and me. Come tell us how you died.
The oracle moved about the board A figure-eight reply. The oracle started slowing down, then stopped . . . above the Y.
Tell us more, tell us more, what brought you here to me? Tell us how you died tonight. Tell us when you died tonight. Tell us what brings you here tonight. Keep spelling it for me.
The figure eight continues and around the board it moves. It’s slowing down, it’s slowing down. Come, spirit, talk to me right now, Tell us tonight, because we want to know . . Then the oracle stopped on the letter O.
You’re coming in so very clear, Now tell us why you’re roaming here, on this dark and stormy night. Speak to me, speak to me, Travel through this board to me. Tell us why you sleep tonight beneath your resting tomb. Speak to me, speak to me, speak to me now. Then the oracle stopped on the U.
Y-O-U, Y-O-U, this isn’t making sense. You spelled out, YOU is this what you meant to do? Then the oracle stopped on YES.
*COME BY AND VISIT ME AND PREVIEW SOME OTHER STORIES FROM THE LUNACY MACHINE, TWISTED TALES OF UNFORTUNATE TIMES 'R' in my blog section SEE YA!! -CRISS KARVER
