Wild Boy of Aveyron has recently emerged from the Canton, Ohio area. Our music stems from all of our vastly different influences. Such influences come from epic progressive rock bands such as 'This Will Destroy You,' 'Sigur Ros,' 'God is an Astronaut,' 'Explosions in the Sky,' and 'Godspeed You Black Emperor.' We are also very influenced by the mellow, soothing, and slow moving sounds used in bands such as 'The Six Parts Seven,' 'Unwed Sailor,' 'The Winston Jazz Routine,' 'Hammock,' 'The Album Leaf,' and 'American Football' (or really anything by Mike Kinsella). Influences also include the powerful drum beats and guitar tones of 'The Appleseed Cast,' 'As Tall As Lions,' 'Colour Revolt,' or even 'The Mars Volta.' An unexpected "poppiness" comes from influences such as 'Shangrala,' 'Dear and the Headlights,' 'Broken Social Scene,' 'Loney Dear,' and 'Stars.' As all of our inspirations collide together, one can find themselves listening to a variety of different building and descending sounds and styles. Currently, we are in the process of recording a 7 track EP entitled 'the Tiger and the Ghost ep.' It will be available soon, so please continue to look out for new songs, updates of our recording process, and upcoming shows.
great show last night guys, i was completely blown away by how you made that little bar sound awesome. I spoke to brad and hopefully we'll be able to play together sometime. P.S- Where do you guys record? the recordings are awesome and we're looking to get into the studio soon and do an EP.
