DNA's BIO

There's something almost eccentric about a person who manages to establish a career in an industry that is expanding minute by minute, and still keep his skills airtight.   When you go into the club and know that DNA is spinning on the wheels of steel, you cant help but to get on the dance floor; When you’re on the streets and a street promoter gives you a DNA promotional mix-tape and you put it in your system and it doesn’t come out until three months later, its DNA taking care of business.  As DNA says it, I’m just doin’ what I do.

DNA's skills, as one of Hip Hops Elite DJ's, transcend the ordinary style of today’s DJ’s.   His delivery exemplifies a solid knowledge of what was, but fervent anticipation of what is to come.  Whether he’s spinning the hottest record by your favorite artist or introducing an entirely new artist, DNA embraces each record with flair and dominance leaving his audience in search of more.

DNA is currently recognized as the Nations favorite DJ on the official nation wide XM SATELLiTE RADiO channel 66 Raw (846 Direct TV/AOL RADIO) based in Washington, DC.  His program, Real Radio on Wednesdays at 9:00PM-10:00PM Eastern Standard Time, 6:00PM-7:00PM Pacific Standard Time & 8pm-9pm Central Standard Time showcases exclusives from the hottest artists across the globe which continues DNA's reign as the nations number 1 trendsetter & record breaker.

In the early 90s a love of music led DNA to pursue a career in the music industry. Starting as a mobile DJ for various local events, DNA's unique ability to recognize a hit record drew much attention on the party and mix tape scene.  During his freshman year at Morgan State University DNA began working at Discount Record City Baltimore Paging, a local record store in downtown Baltimore. By his sophomore year, he had started his own promotions company, focusing primarily on college events. While building his new venture, DNA began doing volunteer promotional work with Def Jam, PolyGram Distribution Group and La Street Promotions.  With his thriving talent and innate understanding of business, DNA soon spurred from mobile DJ to independent promoter, to worldwide mix tape and party DJ.

In 1997, DNA stopped his volunteer work to put forth complete concentration on his academic college goals along with the future business plans for his company, Niihtz Of The Round Table Entertainment Group (Now Round Table Music Group). In the spring of 2000, DNA began interning with EMI Music Distribution Group in search of more knowledge to aid his long-term career in the industry while becoming a larger part of the street mix tape industry with his consistent exclusive mix tapes both locally and nationally.  By 2000, DNA had worked with some of the most renowned names in the streets, as well as the music industry ranging from industry executives, artist to fellow DJs.

In May of 2000, DNA graduated from Morgan State University achieving a Bachelors Degree in Telecommunications with a focus in Radio Broadcasting. He then went on to work for AIR (Active Industry Research, Inc.), a national independent Promotions company where DNA assisted the 20 year old company with successfully constructing their first ever Urban Music department responsible for breaking acts such as Alicia Keys, Jaheim, Trey Songz, Mario and Amerie just to name a few of many.  While working at AIR, DNA began to get his weight up in the mix tape game joining forces with P-Cutta and Rooftop Entertainment while building numerous relationships throughout the radio and music industries.  By teaming with Rooftop Entertainment, DNA & Round Table Music Group became partially responsible for the up-rise of the streets infamous Street Wars mix tape collection.

While at AIR a college associate of DNA's brought a 15 year old artist from Baltimore, MD by the Name of COMP into his Office.  Blown away by Comps Talent DNA immediately began to spread the word about him and flooded his popular Baltimore based mixtape series "Harm City" with Comp's music, introducing the streets to what DNA still holds as Baltimore's best and most well rounded MC. DNA went on to become Comps fulltime Show & Mixtape DJ. Comp since has signed to Def Jam and released 4 volumes of his own "Bang-A-Rang Gang" mixtapes with DNA spearheading & distributing each project and creating a huge street buzz.

In 2004 DNA left AIR and for the first time pursued his DJ career and building his indie label Round Table Music Group full time flooding the streets with numerous solo street classic mixtapes with the biggest names and up and coming artists in the streets including, Young Jeezy, The Game, Rick Ross and Styles P Just to name a few. He also went on to become the official Tour DJ for other up and coming artists such as Columbia Records/Sony Urban's Paula Campbell and Blackhand Entertainment's Grafh. This is also the point when DNA began his 1st ever but instantly popular Radio Show "Real Radio" on XM SATELLiTE RADiO's 66 RAW.

In September of 2005 DNA opened his record store Wild Child Records in Baltimore, MD. Shortly after he also inked a distribution deal for his Harm City Mixtape Series with Unruly Records, thru Downtown Locker Room and DTLR stores throughout the east coast. The first release was Harm City vol. 5: True Crime, which sounded more like an album than a mixtape but staying true to DNA's classic mixtape format with all original material showcasing various independent artist with celebrity features such as Da Band's Chopper aka Young City, Jim Jones, Comp, Bossman, Raheem DeVaughn, Joe Budden, Grafh & Dru Hill's Skola and nationally introducing independent artist such as Skarr Akbar, MullyMan, D.O.G., Barnes of Street Official and Round Table's own Don Brody. With this Project DNA used his extensive street distribution, promotional & marketing knowledge to fully organize and finance a promotional radio & street promotional tour covering several markets including Baltimore, MD; Richmond, Newport News, Norfolk, VA Beach, Alexandria, VA; Washington, DC; Raleigh, Durham, Charlotte, Greensboro, NC and Atlanta, GA.

With the success of DNA's first completely Baltimore based project "Harm City vol. 5 True Crime", he went on to focus on the Baltimore hip hop scene and began to do shows and showcases which focused on developing independent talent from the Baltimore area joining forces with local hip hop promoter C-Love, Ebony Elle and Ike From Myspace aka the IBB fam to create the It's Baltimore Baby Showcase. With only 4 official IBB events DNA and the IBB family quickly became the cities 1 Showcase for independent talent due to the high quality talent, along with DNA's Street Mixtape Celebrity status and the well organization, heavy promotional & marketing savvy of the IBB team, an achievement which no other local promoter in the Baltimore area has achieved to date. The IBB Showcases received many reviews through various online publications and the Baltimore City Paper, and in 2006 DNA was awarded with Baltimore City Papers "The Best of Baltimore" award for "Baltimore's Best Hip Hop DJ".

Today, DNA is known as Baltimore’s Official Legendary Mix-tape King who puts out numerous mix tape releases monthly ranging from hip hop, R&B, down south hip hop, best of series along with several other genres of today’s urban music.  The partnership of DNA, P-Cutta, Round Table Music Group & Rooftop Entertainment has since released over 300 mix tape releases becoming among the elite group of sought after mix tape and party DJs across the globe. DNA's Real Radio Program on XM SATELLiTE RADiO's 66 RAW is in its 4th year and still going strong.

DNA currently resides in the Baltimore, MD area but stays on the road so don't be surprised if you see him taking over your city!
