Wildlife Safari began as the vision and dream of one man - Frank Hart. It was his goal to create a facility in the Pacific Northwest that would help save rare and endangered species from around the world. Over 30 years later, Wildlife Safari has grown into an AZA-accredited non-profit wildlife park dedicated to education, conservation and research. We have approximately 500 animals on exhibit at Wildlife Safari including lions, bears, tigers, cheetahs, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, ostriches, and various other antelope, bird, reptile, and mammal species. These animals are given free rein on our 600 acres of grasslands and gently rolling hills, and are accessible for viewing by driving on a designated path. For an oppertunity to meet some of our animals outside of your vehicle, take a walk in our Safari Village where you'll find our smaller animals on display and will have a chance to visit our Gift Shop, Theatre, and the Smokin' Hippo BBQ. Animal programs are a special attraction happening only during our summer months, and give you a chance to learn more about selected species from our Keepers and the ability to even touch and take photos with some! For more information on Shows, Animal Walk-Arounds, and Keeper Talks along with times and prices for Elephant Rides, call (541) 679-6761 ext. 200, check out our blogs up above, or visit our website at http://www.wildlifesafari.net
The creation of the CORES (Conservation of Rare and Endangered Species) program embodies the park's mission of conserving and protecting the world's diversity for future generations; CORES brings the park full circle, cementing its commitment to rare and endangered species. There are currently two CORES projects, the Cheetah Reproduction Project and the African Elephant Conservation & Reproduction Center. The success of Wildlife Safari’s Cheetah Reproduction Project has been overwhelming; the park is proud to be one of the top breeders of cheetah in the U.S. and the western hemisphere.
Wildlife Safari has been in operation since 1973 and is the Northwest's only driv-thru animal park. Wildlife Safari is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization. The Park receives no city, state or federal support and all our operating revenue comes from admissions, concessions, memberships, corporate and private support as well as our fundraising events such as our annual LAWS auction.
Who I'd like to meet: People who want to help our mission and support our natural world by becoming an employee or volunteer of Wildlife Safari
To maintain the success and growth of Wildlife Safari it is very important that we have volunteers who can support the Park's mission in interpretive roles as well as helping in support functions.
